That sucks.  But with a world economy and publicly owned companies, it will happen.

I like Tyskie and Zywiec anyways.   If offered a Bud, I WILL NOT turn it down.

Was never a bud man myself... that's not to say that i haven't enjoyed a few on a golf course or two... but when buying beer it was never a first choice.

I gotta admit it saddens me to see A-B sold to a foreign company. On the other hand, have you tried Stella Artois? :rock

Stella Artois is rubbish.

Much prefer Carlsberg Export or Kronenburg if in a normal pub looking for lager. If I can get it, I drink Staropramen. If it's cold day I'll drink Black Sheep beer.

Ugh. This has the potential to be yet another blow to St. Louis. A-B was one of the few home-grown companies left that was still locally owned.

If I see a sign go up for "InBev Stadium" then the toejam's REALLY gonna hit the fan.

Stella Artois is a pretty basic clean beer.  Nothing wrong with it, but nothing spectacular either.  However since it is perceived as a foreign or high class beer, sweetheartbags flock to it like Rosie O'Donnel to ice cream.  Just take the latest commercials for it.  Specifically catered for bags of the sweetheart variety.

I thought Stella was a nice beer to drink occasionally before everyone started drinking it. Now it doesn't even come into my house unless a friend brings it.

As for the A-B deal; oh well it was going to happen sooner or later. According to the news I read this morning they are not going to shut down anything in the North American market since they did not acquire any of the brewery's in the deal.

When some foreign company buys out McDonald's or Wal-Mart is when the worrying should start.  For these are our most beloved American institutions.
