You stole my image!    ;)

I didn't steal it...I simply borrowed and reposted it  :D  If it's any consolation, it improved my overall graphics from a visual/shimmering standpoint.

#1 I'm going to have to quit thinking one solution fits all problems. Otherwise it is known as the Hammer Theory. Back in the day the Hammer was the all purpose tool!

I know that one.

When I bought my first house a friend of mine and I were installing a dishwasher and an over-the-range microwave.  We got the dishwasher done easily in what seemed like minutes, then came the microwave.  We aligned and mounted the brackets and made sure the exterior exhaust for the range fan lined up and then we had a h@ll of a time hoisting it into place and securing it.  I mean we were having trouble with this thing.

We finally got it done and I backed away and it was crooked!  Being somewhat of a perfectionist and being my new house that just wasn't going to do but my friend had other ideas.  So, while we were arguing, another friend walked in, assesed the situation, walked over to the microwave with a hammer and gave it two whacks on the bottom left side.  Fixed!  It was perfect.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Getback you don't mention the kind of vid card you're using. If it's an Geforce, try these settings:

My personal take on the shimmering is it being the result of a 24" monitor producing too much detail. You'll get used to it but try those settings.

I sure wished that somebody with an ATI 3800 series would post something like that Max.

All the Best...

Okay I think it is just like baldegle said, I'm starting to get use to the new monitor. I have to tell you it sure makes you bad guys look big and scary and of course nice large targets.  :D At one point my Hit% was over 9%. Which is very good for me. I think it's slightly less than 8% now. Back in the day it use to be 4 or 5%.
