Soda I was at 5 for a good while last night.  Picked up some kill, got killed more.
In all the time I was at 5 I only saw 2 goons, and both were bish.  Never saw a rook goon.

Cave, I stopped by the tower at 5 several times last night and nary a single friendly fighter overhead.  Lots of red cons though and usually, not always, but usually the Ack was down.  I know a bunch of Knits made a spirited defense, but the couple of times I looked, there was nothing.  I'm glad you were there helping out but it basically went on all evening.

Seems that the tide turned today with the Rooks outnumbered and down to only a handful of fields.  This isn't just a Knit thing, it goes around, but why should it.  One week it is the Bish, the next the Rook, the next the Knit...

Just my thoughts... I'm sure everyone has an opinion and everyone has been in the situation at some time.

I too think something needs to be done about this.  This last week has been a total waste of time in my opinion.  Everytime I logged on we had around 5 fields and our dar was down.  It also seemed like maybe 10 total planes were flying along the bish - rook border.  One quick look at the stats will tell you that the Bishops have almost double the number of engagements versus Knights than versus Rooks.  On the Rook side there is still a 4000+ engagement difference.

I also checked the stats for last tour.  I found that the Bishops were in a similar situation for at least part of that tour.  (Though of much less severity I might add.)  Regardless of the degree I think it is safe to say that no one likes fighting from constantly vulched bases for half a tour.  For the most part I'd say the sides are fairly even in numbers at US prime time.  (Rooks may have 5 or 6 less than Knights at the most.  Bishops usually even with Knights.)  That said, there should be a way to ensure that one country isn't constantly being hammered by the other two.  Here is my suggestion:  Since we are already getting a "perks" system in the near future, lets give players on a team with the least bases a larger multiplier for the number of points they get for downing an aircraft.  The end result of this is that they will be able to use more advanced aircraft than the other two teams.  My thinking here is that these advanced aircraft will help push back the other two countries until parity is again achieved.  I also think that this will discourage "gangbangs" because the two sides doing the gangbanging will not be able to earn the right to fly the uber planes.

In an odd way this somewhat simulates late war Germany's production of uber planes to try to stop the combined Allied forces in the East and West.

How does this sound?

How come nothing is mentioned when Knights have 20 more pilots than anyone else, as it was like again last night for 1 1/2 hours?  Surely you could make the most of those extra pilots?  I couldn't care less - Bishops get a lot of newbies (especially lately) and I think we pull together pretty well.  Of course July will have the odds stacked in Bishops favour when 308 Sqn join for their 'Bishop Tour'.

Well Replicant, obviously this doesn't happen much.  When one country is being attacked by the other two at the same time you need more than a parity in numbers to stop it.  Tonight was a good night for the Knights, for the most part.  (First good night in 6 days that I've been on anyway, even though I did poorly myself.   )

I have to admit, the Rooks and Bishops actually had a pretty good fight going on with each other for most of the night.  We Knights attacked both Rooks and Bishops at the same time as well.  For the better part of 5 hours we had a great 3 sided war going on that was a lot of fun.

It might be a problem with how the game (AH is not a game ) is played.  The goal is to capture bases.  That basically asks for vultching and gangbanging.

I think as AH progresses, we'll see more of a ground element.  If there were more ground targets required to achieve success, it might help spread things out, instead of concentrating everyone around airfields.

Additional targets could include supply lines, etc.  It might also be interesting to have a dynamic "front" with flak batteries, and moving vehicle bases to the front lines.  This would need to be supplied from the home front.  It would cut down driving distances for tanks, and maybe help diversify things a bit.

off on another tangent.....

I agree with Pogo on setting up some kind of Bonus system for a country that is outnumbered.

Here is my suggestion:

1. To simulate the extra effort that people put forth when they are the underdog the country with the lowest personnel count should get a 50% bonus on reconstruction time. Or perhaps even double speed reconstruction.

2. If a country is outnumbered by 2:1 by the next lowest manned country they should get access to a "better" planeset. What do I mean with this? Perhaps limited access to the Me262 and Me163.

3. I hate three country setups. My opinion, but I think a two country arangement would put a lot of this crap in the past.

4. I am against changing anything that has to do with the ammount of damage something can take, or even going so far as to handicap the other countries (if we have to have 3).
