80M is kinda short in that timeframe... usually goes long & quiets down some after midnight.

Pick a band, freq and time; I'll give yah a try.

Haven't been very active since I got hooked on AW.  Keep the rig in the car to monitor storm spotters and listen in to the nets when the weather whips up a bit.

Hang.. I find it interesting that Katrina got you interested in the hobby.  I doubt very many people realize that in the event of a disaster or something as simple as a big news event, all the current wireless services become completely useless.  That's probably the biggest reason I keep my gear in working order.

Yup, that might play... 40's been in the tank during the day, but it's starting to come back some in the evenings.

ZZQ.. yup. It was the same on 9/11. Worse; actually, since the city didn't have an emergency radio communications system that allowed cross-services communication. Still not fixed; AFAIK
