Superfortress not combat version
« on: July 16, 2008, 10:10:53 PM »
How about the superfortress. But the resupply version not the bomber version. They were really important to the war effort in the pacific.

The C-97 had a completely different fuselage than the 29.

I have a book here that says there were completely unarmed versions of B29s used in WWII to resupply fields in china.

I have a book here that says there were completely unarmed versions of B29s used in WWII to resupply fields in china.

Flying 'The Hump', they used whatever aircraft they could to bring in supplies after the Burma Road got cut off.

They used C47s, C46s, B25s, B29s... whatever they could to bring in supplies.

Does this mean AH needs a B29 when a single formation of bombers can drop FHs?

In a word; negative.
