It's like stick shift or traction control, or abs in cars.  You'll wonder how you ever put up with em for so long :)

you'll get it, just hang in there. It took me about a week or so. Listen to the stall buzzer. Also, try fighting in the up and down for a while.  :salute

And stay out of the 190s lol.  They teach bad habits.  Once the HO shot is missed all that is left is running  ;)

Geez, I hadn't thought of that. It might explain my suckage in the game.

Nah...that would be too easy.  :)

I turned it off before I even started my two week trial.

I don't think I've ever flown with it on.

So did I.  I would never turn it back on for any reason.

Listen to the stall buzzer.

also notice the Stall Buzzer starts out at a low volume and gradually increases the volume getting louder and is the loudest right as you enter the buffet zone.....idealy you would not want to go past the medium volume range when you have gotten yourself into a slow turn/knife fight  anything more and you are backing up instead of moving forward in the gaining angles.....

and to begin with you should not be in this situation to begin with if you can help it

Oh Falc, turn it back on unapologetically :)  I've flown with it off and on.  I like it on because of the ease.  I do fancy the real pilots get a good edge without it, and with cannily using manual trim.  I tried to always avoid those circumstance where a real edge was needed.

I'm of the dull butter knife school of AH dweebery.

Try turning combat trim off at the same time for a really wild ride (compared to having had both the stall limiter AND combat trim on)! Takes some getting used to but it will really increase the manuvers you can execute!
