Bomb damage against tanks

I nearly always fly a B26 loaded with 250lbs and I've only killed one pnzr with a 250 and I presume the pnzr was already half damaged by other aircraft etc. (most my pnzr kills, apart from being in a pnzr, are from F4Us or P47s, usually loaded with 500lbs) I've seen my 250 show hit sprites and it's never killed any... so those that have killed with 250s, perhaps the pnzr had already sustained some hits, even MG might be enough to register the kill>?!>!

Well, one thing I've learned is if you're going after panzers, leave the rockets in the hanger. You can do more damage to a tank by opening the canopy and spitting on it as you fly by.

Just treat them like cannons. They work pretty good at point blank. The Typhoon's rockets on the other hand, are a joke.

Yeah, I've had problems with the Typhoon rockets too, not sure what it is but the 20mm still seems more effective.  I tend to leave the rockets in the hanger unless I'm going after M16's.  Against an M16 they are reall effective... but so is 20mm or .50 cal.

The tank I hit, or tried to, was standing totally still, and come to think of it, the one I missed with 2 1000lb'rs was right next to the Tower at an airfield.  He wasn't tucked in, but he was within 3 tank lengths of touching it.  The bombs I dropped had him clearly in the crater, both times, and I made several passes just to convince myself that he was still alive.  The fact that he drove away after that startled me a lot.
