Perhaps a clue to what could be going on. Recently when i start up the game the clipboard acts like I haven't installed the Fix for Multicore AMDs. But i have installed all fixes listed in the sticky at the top of this forum.

Toad, on board sound bad! Also check your sound acceleration. It should be set at 3/4.

It is set at 3/4, and i was going to buy a sound card, but didn' have any problems that seemed to stem from it so i just kept it.

Hmm, that is interesting.  Do you have a router, or are you directly connected to your ISP's network?  The second hop looks pretty ugly.  It is a NAT router.  If that is your personal router, I would suggest turning off the power, let it set for about a minute, then turn it back on again.

Only Hop 1 is my personal router. I'll reset it. and see what happens, then I'll remove it completely and see.

If that is without the router, then yes, you need to contact your ISP about this.

Recently I reloaded my OS partition. Was suprised at the constant lockups I got in AH. I've got a seperate partition for AH and even reloaded AH to no avail.

I started changing my drivers for vid and audio cards but was limited to audio drivers for my Creative XFI Gamer Extream card to those on the Creative site which are beta drivers. Finaly out of frustration, and lockups every time I tried to run AH, I searched for some older sound drivers. Problem solved!

Haven't had a lockup in two weeks and the game runs like I expected it to after an OS reload.

My vid card, a GeForce 6800 GT runs better with old 84.66 drivers than the new ones nVidia offers also.

Just a thought, drivers can be the root cause of a lot of lockup issues.

Edit to add, didn't read the entire thread, seems Skuzzy has ID'd some other prob. Still, driver issues are a pain in the tush.

I have the exact same problem as Toadkill.
The will randomly freeze and there is not a thing I can do about it besides hit the reset button.
One odd thing I noticed was that I too have an ASUS motherboard that uses Soundmax.
I am running the sound out of a separate sound card. M-Audio 5.1 Revolution.
I disable the on board sound through BIOS.
I also read that possible anti virus software may be to blame.
I turned off my Avira and sure enough, it froze again.
When it freezes the screen gets a little dimmer and the clip board acts weird.
Most of these freezes happen when I am in the hanger.
I have had the same problem flying and in the tower as well, the hanger is just more frequent.
All my drivers are up to date as of last week so I don't think it's a driver issue.
If need be I too can post my DxDiag. I will also take pictures (with a camera since the computer freezes and doing a screen shot would do nothing) if they would be helpful to understand what I am talking about.

What operating system and CPU does your computer have on it?  The symptoms you are describing sound familiar.

I thought so.  Do you run the game with the compatibility mode set to "Windows 98/ME"?  Or did you install all the patches from AMD?  Or have you done both?

How do I go about finding the option to set the compatibility mode?
Yes, I downloaded the most recent drivers from AMD's website.

Right-click on the Aces High II startup ICON, then select "Properties", then select the "Compatibility" tab, check the option to run the application in compatibility mode and set the mode to "Windows 98/ME".

My bet is you are missing the patch from Microsoft for dual core issues and you did not get the right dual core patch from AMD.
