Look at it this way. The American 0.50 BMG round, fired by almost all the Yank planes, fired a 700 grn class AP bullet to about 2,844 fps, developing roughly 13,000 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle. In contrast the 3006 round our infantry fought with, and would kill you deader then fried chicken, fired a 150 grn class round at about the same velocity, and generated a little under 3,000 lbs of energy at the muzzle.
Put it this way. In hunting terms the 3006 has taken every type of ground animal on the planet, where'as if you were going elephant hunting the .50 BMG would leave you far over-gunned. A AP .50 BMG round would probably not only kill the elephant you were aiming at but also the three standing behind it. Think about that the next time you up a Jug with a full MG load.
So yes. I think for the game to be modeled correctly then one round would have to be able to kill you.
