F6F Tri Color Paint question

is this plane a misinterpretation from a bad photo or did they really have tri colors this brite?

Probably just plain wrong colors while trying to look tricolor. You'll also notice the paint is more glossy, which IIRC the tricolor birds were all non-specular.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

what probably happend there is, that it was refurbished and was painted with car paint.

That's a warbird, 'restored' Corsair.  Using most modern warbirds as a template for a paint scheme for a WW2 bird, is not the way to go. Glossy paint is often used for ease of maintenance.

There are some that are done with matt paint schemes to replicate the real deal, but not many.

that background has a strange colour cast - got to be wary of old colour photos, even with fresh stock processed carefully early colour reproduction was pretty dreadful. correct official colours here: http://colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=37880%2C35042%2C35164 :)
