They ruined my online flight experience

Just when I was about to chuck down the $30.00, they cut my FPS in half when near a field with smoke or ack firing. It is like watching a slow motion replay when in these situations....I find myself wishing 1.02 were back....oh well, i figure i'll give em a week to resolve the FPS issues, if not, i am not going to participate any longer. You see, i cannot justify $360.00 plus another $100 - $200 (for a better vid card) just to play a game....my wife would think i had gone off the deep end. LOL. Nevertheless, my time flying with you wonderful folks has been a blast, and maybe one day, when the eagle s*its a pile of gold in my yard, i will be able to enjoy the game like i used to. btw...I am running a celeron 433 with 8meg agp vid card. This is the ONLY game i have FPS problems with which cannot be resolved. Hope they do something quick...well, enough whining...back to Apache Havoc (the graphics run nice and smooth on my puter!)

I feel your pain. The game really is a HUGE fps hog, but think of all that is happening. Try hitting CNTRL-C and also SHIFT-F1 to not draw the hills all the way to the horizon.

It helps alot.

Have you tried uninstalling the hi res texture patch? I leave mine off and get 45 to 50 fps at 800/600. I have a 450 p2 + dimond monster 2 8meg vid card so were close in performance i would think. You need to uninstall ah and re install it. I lose 10 fps with the texture patch. Also try looking for a page online that has your vid card maybe there is a tweek for it. I like tweek3d.

And wasn't there a new option in the video setup (per readme) to help with FR chunders?

Rgr that eye. I uninstalled my hi res terrain textures and not only did my frame rate go back to the way it was before, but my cockpit art improved too, gauges are more defined and legible .

I never had the hires textures installed anyway. It is a dag-blaster shame that this has happened. All of us people without the extra cash to fork out on expensive hardware are screwed into flying nowhere near ack or smoke. I guess the wide open skies is the only place for me. LOL

Pyro said online  that  they will be  tweaking the smoke, expect  to get your FR back...can't say how soon..
