Truth is, if a squad wanted they could take most of the bases there without much trouble and a little organization. Tank town is really not tank town because of the air fields. On the other hand, if the airfields were not on the island it would be almost impossible to get your GV base's back if kicked off.

I've got mixed emotions about taking the airfields or whole the island for that matter.

simple solution.  Make the TT bases uncapturable.  Any incentive to grief them goes right out the window.  Tankers can shoot each other to their heart's content, pilots looking for a quick and intense fight can get that too.

Base takers have the rest of the map to capture all the bases they want.

I like this idea [:

I agree with this as well. It would allow for some base captures and defenses to take place but would not allow for one country getting kicked completely off the island.  Excellent idea.

I like it.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

That would be cool and all, but give me abck the old TT. Then ill be happy.

I miss spawning out and seeing 20 tanks on each side, could get well over 400 kills there a day.
