Why Obama might just be worth voting for...
« on: July 28, 2008, 09:34:56 AM »
A president whose only real platform is his skin color could actually benefit this nation... Here is how:

1.)   A little bit of 'okay, let's do it your way' might go a long way with global public opinion. It would be a wasted 4 years, of course, but after this period, we could settle into a more pragmatic form of foreign policy with the added credability of having tried to do things differently.

2.)   This nation's addiction to political correctness can be satiated, once and for all. Obama can be the equivalent of a drug overdose for those segments of our society that can't bare to act freely and practically out of fear of offending somebody. His 4 years may well get done, in one short, painful period, what would otherwise take an eternity of gradual societal castration.

A bitter but quick pill, and one that this nation has longed to take can, in fact, make clear to the entire nation the folly of the path we've been slowly treading for decades. After the pill has been digested and excreted, we can all sober up and get back to business.

Doubt I would vote for him either way, but for the sake of helping a doomed social experiment die faster, maybe 4 years of Obama might accomplish something. Frankly, I think the sacrifice might be worth it if it gets the PC movement out of our collective system, once and for all.

And the past 8 years haven't been a waste how again?

As to 1, I would change that to 8 years. It seems' that anymore, no matter how awful the administration, the incumbent is a dead ringer to win re-election.

As to 2, I really doubt that. If anything, it stands' to get worse, due to the almost certain empowerment of those who favor PCism during his tenure, thus ensuring that it will be a part of his legacy.

I don't want a cut & run president with foreign policy.

I want a "wow, your a mass murdering slimeball that just might WMD (maybe) and who threatens his neighbors..then you might be NEXT" president.

Speak softly and carry a big stick.

Play Whack-A-Mole with those who deserve it.

What's that prayer?  Protect those who cannot protect themselves?

No rookies for president, thank you.

I think we may be stuck with Obama whether we like it or not. Those who vote for him will never ever agree electing him was bad even if we were to join the EU. I'm afraid it's just a lose/lose situation.

Well if you see it that way consider it punishment for having a horrible repub president for 2 terms.

The desperation by the Obama haters is quite comical. They spent this whole thread to prove why Obama hates the troops. All of them talking about what he should and should not have done. He is the next president of the United States, so give him some respect.
