GONNA HIJACK MYOWN THREAD HERE.SORTa.........

i just got off the phone with my business insurance company.

i had 4 cars vandalized on my parkign lot last week. no problem i figure, i have insurance. i bought good coverage(or so i thought). so the underwriter calls me back this morning, and tells me that i have a $500.00 deductable per car. WTF???????? why the hell do i pay them for insurance then? the vandalizm was to the windshields. they were a civic, lumina, maxima, and a land rover. the only one that's probably gonna go over that deductable is the land rover.

i've only had the shop for a few months, and can't afford this chit, and the ones i was counting on, and paying them good money for it too tell me in not so many words that i'm throwing my money away.

anyone got a line on a good insurance company for auto repair shops? mine apparently sucks.....

Usually glass has no deductable. Glass is full coverage on my policy but I do have a $500 deductable on collision. Did you double check your policy?

It's ok to rant.  I felt the same way about 3 years ago when I had an operation.  I didn't have a health insurance supplimental back then and the 20% that major medical didn't pay was the monster suzxxor.  I ranted too.

Now I have a supplimental for accident and cancer.

Hope I never have either but at least we wont take it in the nads if the bills start pouring in.

Good Luck again.

I thought you were talking about basic self-coverered vehicle insurance--not property insurance.

P&C (Property & Casualty) is a licence I do not hold.

I do Health & Life.

Each has it's own idiosyncrasies, and  laws.

All is meant to keep you from going broke in case of each's disasters.

Maybe increased security measures like maybe a guard, or guard dogs, or the threat of both might help.  Video surveillance, unless it's in real time (you have armed people there with radios as it's happening) is of little use (trust me I ran a casino).  After you bust a perp you will find out that they have little or no money, or will lie about it to a judge, and you don't get compensated for jack.

I hope that in one way or another you get your money back in the long run.

Good luck

i like the idea of the threat of death slowly and painfully if i catch them in the act :D

seriously, i've ordered wireless video camreas that record 120fps straight to a hard drive. i'm buying an external HD to record on so that if something should happen, i can give the HD to the police. if i were to move the video, then it could be beaten in a court, as tampered.

i might not get compensated, but i'd be willing to bet that the person or persons lives near my shop. if they were to get off the hook with the law...........well.........i think you already know where i'm going.

i do appreciate the advice too BTW,,,,,
