it would be nice for a large bomber raid at like 12-18k and launch a bunch of 163/262s and have p47/51s at fighter escourt for bombers

I'm finding it difficult to get the fully loaded four engine bombers off the ground, up to speed, and up to altitude.   :uhoh   Are there any tips or magic formulae from you ME vets?

How much fuel are you using?  Offline, fuel burn is 1.0, so 25% will take you as far as you need to go.  Also, make sure your speed is not set to high for the buffs.  If it is, they will keep leveling and/or diving some to get to that speed which will cost you altitude.  160 mph is a good climb speed for the buffs you have listed.  Lancs are the worst when it comes to this.

Thanks Ranger.   :aok  Yeah, I was using 100% fuel, kept upping the speed and lengthening the segments.  You prolly just saved me a day or two screwing around.   :salute

OK, this may be another "duh" question, but...

Can bombs actually destroy objects in offline missions?

I've been working four routes each with one flight of six B24s with 4x2000 lb. pound bombs all making the same run on the same target about 10 seconds apart.  I'm using the bob4 map and my target is a factory in the city that sits about .4 K above sea level.  I see craters, lots of them, but no object damage.


Building this mission is kicking my ME butt.

This happened in a mission of mine.  You could see the explosions on playing both sides, but it only showed damage to structures if I was flying on the attacking side, nothing on the defending side.

Mega confirmation on that Ranger.  I added an observation route on the attacking side and observed the devastation.  Now I can see the bombs actually work.  I can back off the target overkill, and make the mission more interesting.

Flights of B-24s & B-17s target German industry.  Me 262s & 163s defend.  Two missions, one with P-51 & P-47 escorts, one without.

These missions are designed to be flown from the Axis perspective, defending against the bombers.

Greetings & Salutations Stalwart   :)

Thx much for the new missions, enjoyed what few I could play, that is the P51 2 flights & the axis jets were very good, however, on ALL of the Bombenflugzeugen
missions 1 & 2, as soon as the bombers (B17 & B24) were in flight, the engines would SWITCH OFF!!   :uhoh  & of course, start losing altitude.

Likewise on 1 of 2 P47 flights only 1 works, the other suffers engine SWOFF   :mad:

Would u pls check into this & correct the problems?  Thx for ur courtesies & help.  :salute

Howdy HellFire,

That's really weird.  I noticed that on some buff flights a few planes seem to just die and fall out of the sky.  I'll review the complete route for each flight and try to identify my mistake.

I think this may be a fuel load / arena setting issue.  The engines may be switching off after the warp segments because the tanks are empty.  One of the P-51 missions takes 50% fuel, the other takes 25%.  What are the odds the flight that has no engines after the warp segments is the 25% fuel flight?

I'll reset all the flights to 100% fuel and replace the file at the server.

fixed soon.   :)   In flying the 51 against the jets, I've noticed that the ammo load
needs to be increased.
 
I'm careful in using my ammo, generally short bursts, & don't spray & pray, however, against the jets my ammo load seems to expire quickly, could u, likewise, check into
this ?  TY.  I enjoy ur games very much & look fwd to the successful completion of this mission.   :salute    Keep up ur good works!  :aok

You set your ammo multiplier in your offline clipboard arena settings prior to the mission.  That's something the player has to do, it can't be built into the mission.
