Correct me if I'm wrong, But it does exist just not common. Brits had gliders that even carried light tanks. And I'm sure the US/germans had it but it wasn't used too commonly...

so why not make a four engined plane that can carry five vehicals at a time. as well as field supplys and vehical supplies.

Nothing near this capacity ever existed.

its a b29 super fortress. only if i knew how to post a picture id show you guys but i heard on the military channel it could carry 2 willy jeeps and 1 sherman farret tank and bombs.
No, it couldn't. The B29's carrying capacity was 20,000 lbs of ordinance. The Sherman weighed almost 67,000 pounds and 1 Willy's Jeep weighed 2,300 lbs.

Aces and Eights...

While I applaud your enthusiasm, don't try to convince me through PMs that a B-29 will carry 6 tanks.

B-29s were used as transports, carrying fuel tanks in their bombbays to supply the bombing B-29s in China with fuel before we took the Marianas, Tinian, and Saipan.

Please...don't rely on Wikipedia to make you a military historian. It's embarrassing. Chances are I had my Masters in military history before you were even born (1994).

We can do the mental Lufbery if you want to, but you're sorely outclassed my boy.

And the next time you want to send a PM with insults, I'll pass it on to the folks up above and we'll see what they say about your behavior.

See, if I were wrong, people here would be telling me that I'm wrong...but they're not, they're tell you, but you're not listening...

Grow up and leave the thinking to those of us who can do it without pulling a groin muscle.

The most the Gigant could carry was a single light tank (Panzer I, II). No where near a Sherman and two Willy's Jeeps.

I'd agree with you in a heartbeat, but unfortunately there really are people sufficiently ignorant out there to post this crap. (and keep posting it)

Maybe. I was responding to Rino's comment. Not gonna waste time commenting on the original poster's silly request. So technically, Rino and I are just third-parties watching this fishing expedition.:D  You wanna sit and watch with us, or chase the bait?
