frame rate
« on: August 04, 2008, 08:47:30 PM »
my frame rate has been terrible every time i get near an enemy it drops to a frame every 10 seconds
by that time i hit the ground and die. there is no point in playing if all i do is auger and i can't stop it. if i get attacked by a plane while im gunning in a bomber i can't move the guns and every time i have been shot down. i haven't had one point today when i get near an enemy and don't crash. if i can't get near a target then what is the point of playing.  :furious :cry

Disable player skins and see if that helps.

The AHII splash screen has a video settings option. Check and see what max texture size you're using. If you're not set to 256, try it.
Have you tried tweaking the in game video performance sliders? Less detail = better performance.

A DXDIAG output would be helpful.

beginers do what Skuzzy said NEARY.

click the start bar then click run type in DXDIAG then click run. and that will run a system report on your computer. after it is done save it to your desktop and then paste the first 1-3rd of it here.

How do you check what frame rates you are getting in-game?

it is either   ALT -I   or CTRL-I   ( pretty sure its CTRL-I  to toggle it on and off  - ALT - I  toggles thru the icon system ...ie Normal, friendly only, enemy only, no Icon, normal icons )

yep.just checked to clarify

CTRL - I  toggles Screen/video usage/frame rate on and off ( will be at top center of screen in green text )

ALT-I  toggles thru the icon system
