Carl, in a separate thread (which was getting longish), was indicating how frustrating it was to have guys respawning over and over again.
While I disagree with his assessment (just nuke the FH and VH with the Lancaster's 4k bombs
), I have been wanting to strafe trains, bomb bridges, and blow up truck convoys.
Right now, there hasn't been much of a reason for HT and Pyro to put in railroad tracks, roads, rivers, and bridges.
We can warp instantly from one field to another to bolster the defense. Theoretically, the entire nation can get on the runway and airborne the moment a FH comes up at a field. [There's nothing more terrifying to a C47 pilot than suddenly seeing 6-8 M-16s spawn at the suddenly rebuilt VH as you fly over :0]
Now, if the airfields were linked by roads, bridges, and railroad tracks -- and these links are what allowed people to get from airfield to airfield -- then we'd have a reason for Pyro and HT to put them in (it would also make the terrain look more real).
By extension, bridges and railroad tracks could feed from the factories to the cities and the fields, affecting repair rates.
The looooong 1-2 hour drive in vehicles could be shortened by traveling by train or road. Rivers and bridges would add a new strategic dimension to taking fields with tanks.
Anyway, this is the gameplay and feedback forum, so I hope HT and Pyro are listening
