More Communications Commands

The "Check Six" call was one of the best additions to AH I've experienced, and it really enhanced team play in the arena. Some radio messages have to be sent out real fast to have any effect, and being able to warn a friend of impending danger with just a single button/key is very very convinient - little but ingenious idea that helped the players of AH a lot  :)

I'd really like to see some more diverse communications commands of this manner, and since the "check six" thing is already in here, I figure it'd be very very very simple to add just few more different voices for different commands.. I mean, you don't have to change something.. no graphics issue.. no flight model issue.. no bug to hunt...

So, I hope we can expect some more commands next version. Or maybe the version after that.

Personally, these sort of messages are what I need to send to others fast, and most often :

"On My way, hang in there!"
"Please get this guy off of me!"
 "Drag him straight!"
 "Come towards me!"
 "6'oclock low!"

I wouldn't mind if we can get just that one message - "on my way...." - so therefore the friend I try to help would look for me and try to set the bandit up. It's probably the most needed message that has to be sent quick next to "Check six!".

Please look in to this  :)

A system like the one used in ACES of the Pacific would be nice. Press a key for comms, then press the # 1-0 to send desired message. Messages can be costumized, giving more flexibility to the player.

Of course, some pre-set messages with their .wav file should also be avaliable for use.

Hello,

How about abbreviations on some commands.

Dot wing       instead of dot wingman or
Dot wg         instead of dot wingman
Dot squ chan#  instead of dot squelch chan#
Dot e          instead of dot ef
Dot slv        instead of dot salvo

on so on.

Reason - in the heat of battle it's easy to fat finger the kb.

Check replies in the General Discussion forum.

An AOTP style list of commands won't work.

You have to select the pilot you want to send the command to like the check6 call is currently built.

Kweassa I agree.  After the check 6 call (which I think is great) first came out I suggested adding at least a "break right" or "break left" call.  If you're trying to help out a mate you have no way of telling him which way to go to help you line up a shot.  You just can't type and fly in those situations.

I'm afraid though that too many commands would get confusing and would take precious seconds to toggle a list of commands and then read them all and pick the right one.  I like just adding a few others so that you might only have 3-4 "calls" to remember and hotkey.

The time delay Tac, it makes it totally useless.
