<S> Jaeger! That was my most enjoyable sortie AND my most enjoyable fight since I have been playing. It was just over six minutes, but it felt like 60. I have watched the film several times and I really do not think that it does the fight justice. It does not convey the white knuckles, sweating, flailing body english, holding your breath except when yelling at the screen vicious knife fight that I remember. That was some very impressive low, slow and dirty work in an Fw190. I think 2 more minutes of fuel and I was toast. I already had a gun damaged, my flaps stuck out at 2 notches and an elevator missing. That is another advantage of those low slow fights: run out of gas and you can just open the canopy and step out of the airplane. I was glad to get out of that fight with a draw.
Something that the film DID convey was something that I was seeing all night. Jaeger hovered around staying out of my initial fight until it was over and I had recovered and regained my bearings. As did Tyrant and Widesau that sortie. In fact, over the course of countless deaths throughout the night, not one time was I ganged, vulched, picked or HO'ed. Friend and foe alike were respecting the fights that I was involved in. In addition, while all this was happening, there wasn't filth spewing across 200. It was a flash of the AvA that I remember, and it was good.
