We have several LEO and former LEO folks on this board that are highly respected....

Yup. Key word; that. 'Respect'.

I live in Maryland, not in the area this happened, but out in the sticks.
We've adopted several prisons in this area and with them have come a higher
incidence of drug related crimes. Much more than before the prisons were
built.
What worries me since this happened in my wife is always ordering stuff off
of E-Bay, and online. Nearly everyday I come home to find a package addressed
to her on the porch. Which I naturally pick up and take into the house without
even paying attention to the return address. A mail bomber would love me cause
I'd die clueless.
In my opinion the police over reacted, plain and simple, had it been my house I
would have died. Cause anybody that's got the nerve to break down my door is
going to be dealt with with extreme prejudice.
The three most common expressions (or famous last words) in military aviation are:'Did you feel that?' 'What's that noise?' and'Oh S...!'

It seems the police could have knocked on the door and asked about the package and if they were aware it contained 30 something pounds of marijuana.  They could tell if someone was lying right off the bat.

Who here would accept a strange package they weren't expecting, especially one that was packed with weed?  What would you do, open it outdoors and call the cops, or take it inside first and then call the cops?  Seems like a phone call could have done it.  The police could have called them on the telephone and warned them what was up and they were coming right over.  They could have said something like, do not resist and you will be ok.  Put away any dogs.  We are trying to get to the bottom of this.  Be right over.

Thats what he says anyways.....

We have several LEO and former LEO folks on this board that are highly respected....Rich just ain't one of them.  ;)

Frankly I'd kinda feel sorry for any real LEO looking for respect here. With some of this crowd, in these kinda threads, and with you in particular.

Frankly, I gotta tellya that. The only respect I care about are in this game is with the few I fly with. Not with a bunch of cop obsessed sweetheartbags in the bi-weekly, "I wanna shoot-a-cop in a no knock" thread.

Heres my favorite sweetheartbag.

t is past time to legalize MJ and quit wasting our law enforcement effort, money and liberties on these no-knock raids that will.... mark my words... escalate until LEOs either change their tactics or start dying in increasing numbers.

And you think I care about your respect? :lol

Unlike most, if not all, of you Ive been in gunfights, been shot at, made every kinda pinch you can think of, and been in every kinda incident you can think of. And I have the respect of everyone whos been there with me. So Your respect is meaningless.

And I dont talk casually about killing. And dont brag about it, cause all life is precious. The lives of POs, of citizens, and of the pets we keep as family members.

The police are pretty cool really.  Years ago I was drunk and made some mischief by shooting a rifle at a tree in my back yard.  This was in city limits and not allowed.  The police showed up and knocked on he door and asked if I had heard any shots fired around there.  I said no.  They asked if I had a dog and I said yes and offered to call him over and they laughed and said no don't do that.

They left and sat in their squad car outside the house for about 20 minutes until I decided I better fess up.  I told them I was drunk and fired the shot and was sorry and I wouldn't do it again.  They said, we were worried about the dog and since he is alright there's nothing to be concerned about.   They said, Mr. Thompson this is a quiet neighborhood, lots of old people live here.  Don't be firing any more shots.

Then they left.

Most decent folks here have no need to worry about gaining respect. OTOH, I can see why a turd with a badge pinned to it might be a bit uncomfortable in decent company.

And theres a few Men here that have no use for an arrogant cop that thinks his job description earns him the right to step beyond the law to enforce it. So which are you Rich? A law-abiding cop doing his job with humility and respect for the people he's supposed to be protecting or are you one of those dirtbags that enjoys killin parrots and dogs for kicks on Friday nights out with the Ninja's?... I mean when yer not doing the airplane game thing online or playing 'talk to the hand' on the BBS when the subject matter hits close to home?

Unlike most, if not all, of you Ive been in gunfights, been shot at, made every kinda pinch you can think of, and been in every kinda incident you can think of. And I have the respect of everyone whos been there with me. So Your respect is meaningless.

Yup... pretty clear yer in a job you dearly enjoy. But you error in assuming that there are no others out here with experience far vaster than yours. And if the only respect you require or desire is from your fellow 'peace officers' then you do in fact make the point for all the folks out there wondering just which side of the tyranny issue you are really on...

...is it any wonder that public servants with attitudes like yours are detested by the service men and women that fought and sacrificed for the rights and freedom of others? It's nothing short of betrayal of a sacred public trust.. but you'll never understand that; will you?

The LEO's and former LEO's that command respect here in this community didn't come here looking for respect. All the same, they earned that respect with rational posts and not looking down their noses at the rest of us. Two of them that come to mind are Maverick and REPOMAN.

I do think that Mr. Hangtime has covered the rest quite nicely.  :salute

Hopefully one day you will get it. Your last two posts in this thread sure show you don't get it now.

The more and more I think about it, I can only come to one logical conclusion.

The only punishment for these cops is execution, or expulsion from this country forever.  Their choice.

The only thing I see is in the 2nd American Revolution is a Kommisarbefehl relating to captured piggys.
