dogs have masters and cats have staff.

Maybe the best, most accurate quote ever where cats are concerned.

No.. laughing at all the thumbcat shaving and random cat humor.
That's a nice looking cat.  I wish I'd kept pics of my last one.. It had a bent tail that stayed curved over the top of her back, spiraled like a longhorn.  She had a certain character that made her prance with hair standing up, crabbing toward and away from you, at least once a day.. Really a hyper cat.  She'd pounce around from normal gait,  for the slightest reason, litteraly like an antelope.

Question: Why exactly do some of you shave your cats? Does it serve a purpose or somthing? Im actually curious as I am not a cat person because I am allergic and have never heard of people shaving their cats.

I had a cat that we shaved every summer... for some reason his fur would get completely matted, so much so you couldn't get your fingers in to touch his skin.  So we would shave him up.  He never liked the process, but he loved the after effects... he'd hop around and roll around purring on everything... it was pretty funny.

Some people do it just to keep their kitties cool in the summer...

My cat is an Egyptian Mau...  I was on a flight home from Florida and the move Cat Woman was on and there was one of these cats in it.  I thought they were so cool looking I had to have one, unfortunately the closest breeder was in Denver.  It was worth it though, even people who hate cats admit she is cool  :aok

One of our cats disappeared for 16 days.  Just showed up on day 17 like nothing had happened.  I have noticed she is not interested in going outside at all anymore....

Call a dog and it comes running.Call a cat and it takes a message and gets back to you.

The nice thing about cats is if it comes to you it wants to. If a dog comes, he thinks he has to.

You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. -- Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio

A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way. -- Mark Twain

Women and cats do as they dammed well please, and men and dogs had best learn to live with it. -- Heinlein
