Should M16 rounds damage a tank?
« on: June 29, 2000, 08:27:00 AM »
Last night I was defending a field in an M16.  The ack came up and the vulchers started to circle out of range, but there was a tank rolling across the field firing at our tanks.  While the enemy tank was focused on our tanks, I circled around him and pulled up right behind and unloaded 2000 rounds into his rear.  Hit sprites completely covered him.

Nothing.....

He finally realised what was happening and swung his turrent around and killed me.

Are these tanks impervious to M16 rounds?  I figured that if I attacked from the rear I would at least take out his engine.  Should I have attacked from the side?

Impervious to .50 calibre machine gun bullets? I'd hope so.

Westy speaks the truth, those .50 cal should not penetrate even the thin armour on the back, unless they were model with depleted uranium with a higher explosive powder!
