NBC's latest Olympics BLUNDER
« on: August 12, 2008, 02:50:38 PM »
Did anyone else notice last nights pre coverage when NBC posted the medal count and had the USA and China medal count wrongly switched?

Doesn't NBC proofread their copy or were they just trying to make us feel good.
What a bunch of dopes.

Did anyone notice watching the opening ceremonies see the CGI fireworks or the little lip syncing girl because the actual girl singing was deemed not 'cute' enough by the Politiburo?

a customers car had a station playing the BBC news this morning.....and they were talking about it on there.

they interviewed a few people, and the last one was an american woman. they british news reporter made it a point to mention that the american was the only one mad about it. all of hte others defended it as a "safety" measure

Did anybody notice that this part was just a show?  That the little girl flying above the feild was not really flying but was suspended by wires in another blantant Chinese attempt to pull one over on the west?

I thought that the Olympics are about competition.

Why does anyone care about the rest?

The '84 Olympic ceremonies were probably the best, the UFO was cool and at least they didn't have someone else play the guitar for the armless man.

Doesn't china surpass the U.S. in really wierd non-serious ones though? I thought that for the most part (with bigger sports) the U.S. pretty much dominated.  :aok

No, NBC stated that the USA had the most and included the 9 golds as part of the total USA medals.
I just thought it was very poor TV reporting and journalism.
