Picture Slideshow freeware?
« on: August 13, 2008, 08:22:12 AM »
Do you guys know of a good product that would be compatible with Win95 that supports not only a slideshow, but shows the picture number on the slide as well?  We're going without Thumbnail proof sheets this year, and have 3 laptops that our customers will be browsing pictures with, 2 of them have older OS's on them (Win95).

TIA!

Adobe photoshop?
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

My best advice would be to get a html photobook creator which will generate a webpage that will display your photos in a slideshow manner.

That way the client doesn't need anything except an internet browser.

Ah, no, we don't have internet access on Game day. This would be a client only application , not client/server app.  This allows the customers to view the pics immediately after the game (via uploading onto the PC from flash cards) on our laptops set out on tables for customers.

We use Printroom for our photos once we process them and upload them at night.

No worries you can save the generated webpages locally in a folder, have the client click the index.html (through a shortcut for example) and it works just the same  :aok

Edit: duh didn't read properly - if you need to generate the slideshow live then you're in for trouble. WinXP and newer have a built in viewer but for Win95 it's getting hard to find working applications let alone free ones.

Try XnView.  Looks like you can download versions that work all the way back to Windows 3.x.
