We Knits had a good fight with the Nooks at A17 last night <S>! We took 17 when I brought a goon from 18. As I landed at 17 I saw a couple of Knit LTVs crawling towards the map room. My C-47 beat them there and unloaded the drunks to take the base. 12.50 perkies for me.

That had to be frustrating for those guys creeping along in the LTVs. It's a very long, slow trip from the CV to the map room.

So, I was thinking, how about some perk rewards for all on the side taking the base who are in the base sector at the time of capture? Say 2.0 or 1.5 perks. This might even help promote measures to actually take the base vs the vulch mentality which occures far to often in the MA.

Just a thought   :D

Great idea!

Great battle at 17 last night, haven't had that much fun at less than 1000 feet in along time!

I wondered who won that race, weave!  ;)

Good idea.  I think though that the guy who actually does the base capture should get more though.  He had to risk "life and limb" to get in and took the tedious job of loping along in an LTV or C47 or M3.  It's always good to have backup troops in transit just in case and since it WAS a team effort all should gain perks from the capture. This will definitely give a bit more incentive for cooperation to take it.  Too many times I see guys just attacking the base to get into fights and not bothering with a capture at all.

Problem is, how do you know who was and who wasn't involved in the capture.  Anyone in that sector when the base is captured gets the Perks?  Anyone withing 5 miles of base gets perks?  Anyone who has shot down an airplane at the base in the last hour or strafed the field?

Well as in most things, there is no one answer to satisfy everyone. My put would be any countryman in the sector in which the base was taken.

The drunk taxi driver should maintain the lion's share of the perks, but all in the vicinity should also reap some reward.

Fantastic idea!
I would suggest 1 perk for every countryman 5 miles around a base and the usual 12 for the gooner.

That will make your fellows stay at the base until it is captured.
I can't tell how often fields were not captured, cause the fighters did not wait for the goon
