French Canadas Epic Fail
« on: August 15, 2008, 06:25:24 PM »
Lets face it, Canadas attempt to introduce poutine to the American market is a complete failure but why? Americans love french fries, thats for certain. They also like their gravy and cheese - eeveryone loves cheese. So why then had poutine not achieve great widespread success in the us of a?

Uhh...I see some french fries and some other unidentifiable foods.....If I have to ask what it is, I don't bother eating it....

Very tasty and very fattening.... :aok

Some restaurants here in the west carry it while most do not.....

Toss up out here for the best topping for fries:

Mayo is good

Gravy (brown sauce for the southerners) Turkey or Peppered ROAST beef

Ketchup

Salt & Vinager

Barbeque Sauce

Pepper and spices.

Texas has had their version of that for decades.  Shoot, I used to eat it for lunch in high school nearly everyday.

Only we call it "chili cheese-fries".

Although poutine is pretty good, it is also fairly bland.

Got on a "Kinda" French thing with French Fries - they serve them with Mayo instead of Catchup.

Got on that kick for awhile but finally my love of Catchup drew me back.   :D
