Before the "Cobra" was introduced UH-1s' were used as gunships, and even after the cobra came into action they still used them as gunships.

Kind of misleading here.   Only the Hogs (UH-1C's and M's of which around 760 were built total) were used as "gunships".     IIRC around 7,000 saw service "In Country."   So to make your post about 10% of the entire fleet of UH-1's sound "like they were all gunships", is incorrect.

The UH-1 "Huey"s' main role was a a GUNSHIP but it saw many roles. And if this was a Vietnam Sim,the "Huey" would be and if not the first thing to be in it would be the 1st thing I(and probably many more)would ask for.

No, it's main role was a transport/utility helicoptor, hence the U in the designation.  The UH-1C was the variant that was specifically developed as a gunship until the AH-1 was available for operational service.  Basically, it was in interem solution until a better one (the AH-1) became available.  Some models of the UH-1B were also converted into gunships.

Helicopters back then were still a fine-science. Even after WWII its main purpose was to transport injured soldiers. In other words, no thanks.
