web page help
« on: August 22, 2008, 09:55:52 AM »
Hey Guys -

I'm looking for some help on how to create an "effect" on a website that I'm building to document the restoration of my Impala.   On my old website, I used thumbnail pictures that were linked to another page of a full size picture along with some detail text.  This made managing all my pages on my site kinda a pain in the fanny

What I'd like to do is skip the whole thumbnail thing, use all 320x240 pictures and any picture that has some detail text to it, when the viewer puts their mouse over the picture, a little "pop-up" of text shows up next to it.  I'm using a pretty low end piece of software (called website creator) so I don't know if I can even do it.

Does anyone have any ideas how I could do this?  Thanks!

Well the cheap easy way to get that text to pop up would be use a comment for the photo.
Example from www.google.com:
<img src=/logos/olympics08_martialarts.gif width=285 height=110 border=0 alt="Beijing 2008" title="Beijing 2008">

The key tags here are alt and title.
ALT= is text that is displayed on the X out image if the photo doesn't load.
TITLE= is the text that is displayed when the mouse is held over the image.
In game callsign: not currently flying
Flying off and on since Warbirds

Here's the easiest way to do what you're doing.

Create a blog on Blogger. Then create an account on Flickr.

Upload your photos to Flickr. On each image, there's a button at the top that says "blog this".

Something like this.
