some GV tips
« on: August 19, 2008, 08:16:11 AM »
Hello all, Some of you know these and some don't. Gonna make this short and sweet.
First off go to options then pref. , turn "Vehicle engine" sound to 0. The find the one that says "Tread" and turn it to 0. What this does is allow you to here other GVs while your engine is still running.
Example: If you are rolling towards a enemy GV you'll hear them when they get into the Range of 885.Now if you are within 1.3k of the GV and engine off and the start back up you will be able to hear them with your engine on.
What this does for me is tells me the about range. Ill post more when i have time. Anyone wants to train please pm me ill set up times with ya  :aok

I think things like this should be fixed. Perhaps the sound of your engine/tracks and external engine/tracks should be put on the same sliding scale. But, until they are fixed, Bipolar is correct in making sure everyone knows about them so they playing field is even.

True, a bit gamey. But no more so than using the cursor as a sight so you can stick your head 8 feet out of a Wirbel like a giraffe.

Hardly.

Magically muffling engine sounds to 0dB compared to standing up in your seat. And btw, you cant raise your view 8ft, its more like 1-2ft. Far from being giraffe-like

Lusche... whats up with you and making good points??
That seems like a new rule in these forums... no edjumacated posts  :furious

I don't see it as "gamey" I see it as "leveling the playing field"...
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
