Still shooting for a Sunday night start, but the new map has caused a bit more thinking on my part so the finalized setup is still in the works.

I jumped in last night and joined the allied side.

I flew a spit, Had cannon so it is about the same as later models. Performance is down of course, and probobly not as good as the 109 or 205. However, it seemed the axis was getting beat pretty well from what I saw. There were only 15- 20 on each side so the action was concentrated in the air. With the limit on bombers it will be hard to take down a base or town. The spawns for tanks is set up for desert battles with a long way to go to reach a base. With the 30 troop limit set to take a base, I doubt there will be much of that. Not enough people to capture anything. It looks like another furr ball arena and I think most would perfer the other arenas where the action is quicker with more people on. I think this arena requires a lot of people to make it interesting and be able to take bases. Most of what was happening was fur balls, and individuals going to VB's to knock out the ack and radar and going home.

The desert setting is OK, however, in GV's I think most perfer the forest where its fun to sneak around, hide and ambush the enemy.

Maxx and I were on late last night, he said he was also getting ejected from the arenas. I got booted (AH locked up) whenever the server lowered the number of players in an arena. One time, it went from 300 to 100, I got booted, and when I signed on that arena was closed. In a few minutes it reset to 400 and I got on with good frame rates (for me).

Maxx said it was a new server. Wonder how AH tests their stuff before bringing it online. Probably like Microsoft.

I flew this set up one night and in my opinion it wasn't much fun so I haven't returned.  what I found was the axis players were either all extremely high up or circling in the acks.  if one has but limited time to play taking twenty minutes to fly up the AVAaxisosphere and then running after them for another twenty minutes as they immediately dive to ack is not my idea of fun.

on a scale of 1-10 I give the game play in there a 1 because of these attitudes.

the map on the other hand is just awesome albeit with a few bugs.

You should try again.  Only use a forward field this time.  All the action I saw, (excluding a couple large bomber mission) was between the the two closest opposing fields.  Axis in 109E's down in the sand against P40's and Hurri's.  Nothing finer.

Good times. YRMV.

well the good times quip is a highly subjective matter.  I simply don't have the time or the desire to chase you and squadmates to the ack every time you fellows lose the advantage.  I believe I'll wait out the war thing, these set ups bring about the players I dislike most and then in hording ack hugging undulating mobs so thanks for the suggestion but I believe I will stay away just the same.

I really don't know why they let you back in. All you do is stir chit. I mean, I don't particularly like the setup as there are no heavies and bombers play a small role, but I'm not stamping my feet and pitching a fit simply because Bug put a ton of work into this for free on his own time and a lot of players are really enjoying it. Mucho Kudos to those folks for that. But some of you need to grow up.

why would I be kept out?  I pay $15 per month like you do so I can go where I please.  I need to grow up?  you need to skill up.  it's players such as those you defend and yourself that have created the need for

1. ENY restrictions
2. multiple arenas

point to where I'm stamping my feet in any of my posts.  people expressed their opinion on the set up I expressed mine.
