Don't bother trying... women just aren't happy with ANYthing.
« on: August 20, 2008, 03:17:15 PM »
Not me, anyhow...

I had a stupid mouse that incorrectly interpreted a single-click as a double-click.  Real hassle, especially when trying to use the calculator (or more importantly... while playing solitaire).

So my husband gets me a little wireless deal.  The dang thing needs batteries like every 4 or 5 days.  It slows down pretty good & lags before it actually stops working.  Not only that... but now I'm competing with my sons for the batteries, which they use for their X-box controllers.

That's it... I'm not happy with anything I guess.  Can find something to complain about no matter how much effort TxDad puts into getting me the correct mouse.  Ah well... at least the TxDad part of it makes me happy... even if the mouse still reeks of annoyance.

Best mouse I've ever owned. Perfectly placed side buttons, nice and comfy in the hand.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I've had a wireless mouse for three months and haven't had to replace the batteries yet.  There is an on/off button on the mouse, but I've never used it.

I have one of those mouses too TXMom. They do LOVE the batteries. I tried the Lithium energizers once to see if they would last longer and when I had to change them I found that one of my kids changed them with plain old duracells. Of course no one knew what I was talking about when the interrogation began. So I haven't tried the Lithiums again yet and still don't know if they last much longer.

P.S. Have I told you how good you look lately?    :D

Get a wireless mouse with a recharging cradle. Never have to replace batteries. First thing I did on my Nintendo Wii was switch the batteries to recharging packs.

Along with Edog1977..

I've been using wireless mice on a couple computers for years and they go months without new batteries.

What kind of mouse did you get?

what kind of mouse is it?

It says "microsoft" on the top, and on the bottom it has some indecipherable information... like...
NOM
Microsoft Wireless Mouse 700 (I reckon thats the type)
C.UL.US listed accessory
R31264
Plus a whole bunch of symbols, like a checkmark, an arrow, a whole bunch of arrows
and a trash can?
Plus a whole bunch more, printed too small for me to read without glasses

Mine, I think doesn't have an on/off switch. It has an autosleep feature though, I think.  After so many minutes it shuts off... which is fine now that I figured it out & don't bang the thing anymore to get it to work... in fact, that banging part may be part of the problem I suppose.

Mmmm, I'm SO tempted to make a sexist remark like, "Women just have problems with gadgets."  But I won't.  Even though my highly capable wife could be a stress tester for any light switch company the way she slams light switches up and down instead of pressing them gently the way we men, respectful of gadgets, considerately treat equipment.  Not to mention the way she insists on dragging the vacuum sweeper around BY THE CORD in spite of manufacturer instructions to the contrary and my repeated pleas to quit abusing equipment.   :uhoh

I had 2 microsoft mice (mouses?) and both I had a problem with.  I have had a Logitech for about 6 months now and have not had to change the batteries.  Had to pay like 40 or 50 bucks for it though.

My wife went thru LOTSA mice before we got her this one---real neat, it plugs into the laptop pcmcia port when not being used, where it recharges (she is a 'spider solitaire' whiz, solves 2/3 of them at 'medium' difficulty)
