Dornier 335 is an excelent choice, as long as you dont mind having no rear view, and occasionaly knocking that bottom rudder off when landing....

DO-335 never served in squadron strength I believe, correct me if I am wrong? Plus with the exception of one running DO-335 there is no recorded instance of them being in combat.Again correct me if I am wrong. So with those issue's per game policy it wont get in.

The Ass-Ender had worse problems than cooling.

The way I understand it, modern canard planes like the  Rutan designs, they make them safe from the stall/spin traits of a canard plane by basically not giving them enough elevator to pull them above the critical AoA when loaded within the CG limits. This is problematic for a combat aircraft, for obvious reasons.

BnZ I believe you worded that incorrectly...
A canard aircraft is not designed as you stated. Elevator authority is not the deciding factor. They are in fact designed in such a way that the canard stalls before the main wing. This in effect makes them to some extent "stall proof" so that once a specific AoA is attained the canard will stall and the nose will drop until it generates lift again. This is know and the classic "canard bob".
It must also be known that the canard design is not entirely "stall proof" as a deep stall condition can be entered under extreme circumstances where both the canard and main wing are both in a stalled condition. Though rare, and usually the result of exceptionally poor design or treatment this is generally a non recoverable situation and can lead to fatal results.

You are right sir, I did have things a bit mixed up in my mind.

But wouldn't that be a bit like flying with the stall-limiter on in AHII?

I googled and found MUCH debate about the safety of doing aerobatics in a canard design.

Back in 81 I saw a pusher at Rhinebeck Aerodrome, but I'm blanking on the type..DH2?
One thing I do remember that it had an extremely short takeoff roll due to wind conditions.
