Actually, as ironic as it may sound they're correct. Not due to the constantly going down hill. Rather larger drive tires will travel farther or further per revolution. Therefore, as long as they don't take the engine out of the "sweet spot" in rpm for optimum mpg, it would increse fuel mileage. It's like changing your final drive gear ratio.
