Time for a screenshot!
« on: April 05, 2001, 12:56:00 PM »
Let's move on!  The tone and content of this board has taken a definite downturn lately.   Please post a screenshot of one of the planes we can expect in 1.07.  How many new planes will there be?   Describe some of the changes or expected bug fixes...

The vast majority of the community is behind you, Pyro.   Time to introduce a new subject
we can chew on.

I'm predicting an Me262, a B-29, a Helldiver,
a Yak-3, a Spit XIV, and a P-47N.

I'm hoping like crazy for some Japanese a/c,
but I haven't seen any encouraging posts or news that would lead me to believe a Ki84 is imminent.

Thanks for all your hard work- it IS greatly appreciated.   <Salute>!

How dare you!!!!!  Only mentioning the inclusion of one german aircraft.  Pffffft, like we need another P-47 or a super fortress.  Anyway sorry changing mood riddlin over taking prozac.

For germany ME-262, ME-410 R6 model please
For US it will be the B-29, WTF for?
LST for sea ops
GB will get the lancaster that can carry a Sopwith Camel underneath it
Su will get nothing and like it
Italy will look in bewilderment as to why they were ever included
JP will get the Ki-84a, which will replace all the top planes and become the highest killing plane next tour.  In honesty the JP should get the KI-102 but no one listens to our calls for this plane.

In all fairness and honesty the ME-262 should not be added, a 4 engine super buff should also not be added as well.
What needs to be added is balance, twin engine buffs or twin engine fighters IMO.  Stop adding the AC variants with just cannons for armament.  I would rather see a F4U4 with 6 50's then a F4UC with 4 hitmeintheasspanos.  In short add the ME-410 and the HE-219 that is all I want added.

Lets see, there were how many german AC in the last update? 190F8, 190D9, Ta152, and Ar234.  The Americans got 1, and a minimal varient at that, not a new plane.  Japanse got none.  Brits got a pricey perk.

NO SOUP FOR YOU loosewaffles!  Give me a break, it's time to see some other planes.  I'd be just as happy to see you get zilch in this release, you already have your toys.  Certainly japanese planes need some new additions, and the Brits are certainly due for another spit.  Both the Brits and the Germans have a perk plane, while the Russians have likely the best non-perk in the game.  The allies need a perk plane, and the P47-DM or N is just the thing.  That or give me my 47M or N non perked.

What I'd like to see:

 - Japanese twin engined buff of some sort.
 - Ki-44 or something... another Japanese fighter.
 - A Japanese perk.  Whatever.
 - Give teh brits a later model Spit varient.
 - Mosquito!
 - P-47-M, P-47-N, or BOTH, we need an American perk.

Maybe throw in a Russian buff of some sort.  Il-2?

Don't care what side they are on, but we are in dire need of some more bombers!

Couple more ground vehicles would be cool, too.

See?  I'm easy  :-)  Now gimme that rocket powered German thing (Comet?) and [Cartman voice] make me some pie!

I'd be willing to bet that 1.07 will be more then just aircraft.

We should all be patient for now and let em blow our socks off later.

Yes what a refreshing idea

one thing about a US perk ride.. P-47M.. NOT the N.. again P-47M, P-47M, P-47M

And it couldnt hurt a correctly modeled p-47D-23 either..unperked

Ammo-

Why the P-47M over the N?  As I understand it, the N was A2G capable, had longer range, and a faster rollrate due to the clipped wingtips.

Why do you prefer the M?  Just curious...

Thanks! <S>!

The M is a bit lighter and a bit faster.  The M was the real hotrod.  The N was almost as fast, but was a bit heavier but a faster roller.

I'd take either one though.  Or both.

There is one Jug that should be a perk: http://aeroweb.brooklyn.cuny.edu/specs/republic/xp-47j.htm

Suhhhhhhweeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
 http://www.cradleofaviation.org/jordanpart1/0401Seversky-Republicb.html

Every JUG fan should read this.  Heck, every WWII aviation fan should read it.

I like this part:

Quote
Right out of the starting gate, the XP-47M the horse to beat in terms of speed. The XP-47M proved to be nearly as fast as the XP-47J. 488 mph was obtained on at least one flight. The official maximum speed is 470 mph. However, over-boosting the engine could tweak another 15 to 20 mph out of the big fighter. Some may find this next tidbit hard to swallow, however, the test documents still exist.

During durability testing of the C series R-2800 by Republic, it was decided to find out at what manifold pressure and carburetor temperature caused detonation. The technicians at Republic ran the engine at extreme boost pressures that produced 3,600 hp! But wait, it gets even more amazing. They ran it at 3,600 hp for 250 hours, without any failure! This was with common 100 octane avgas. No special fuels were used. Granted, the engines were largely used up, but survived without a single component failure. Try this with Rolls Royce Merlin or Allison V-1710 and see what happens.

Can I have a perk mechanic so I can turn the boost up in my Jug?

I would definitely give up a little speed and climb rate to get A2G capability and a faster
rollrate.

But as you say, either would be nice!

N model has better wingloading and range too.  The M has a little performance edge but overall the N is probably a better airplane.
