Shawk has the record of 186 kills no deaths no ditches. Also he did this in a 190d.. BTW his kills per hours were very high.

I never had the dedication to go for a tour record but my best was one flight in a tempest. 54 kills no vulches with 3 rearms... I do have film of the last 1/2 of that flight..

i know shawk is a good pilot.....but.........

When the campaign first start, have anyone ever push their luck and see how many kills they get before finally get shot down? I've tried it and got to 50kills before my first death.

He probably was but no matter, IMHO. You have to do a lot of things right, and have some luck as well to run off 186 without an incident. That's a big streak for a non perk ride,  regardless of the  circumstances, IMHO.*


* This of course with the exception of someone who ran a streak up the Dextur-yourfup way.

I ran off 108 at the start of a tour once... then got shot down by a 234.... yup   a 234.

I had 102, 112 or 152 in a spit14 years ago when the spit14 icon would show at 6k.   I can't remember which of those figures is correct, but one of them is.

68.  Last tour.  Mostly in F4U4.

I think majority of my kills are from flying 190s and 109s. If I hop onto a Tempest or an F4U-4, my survival rate would go a lot higher. There's no point in flying something I don't like though.

After spending most of your time in 109's, just about everything is easy mode.

The biggest problem is making the transition from 2-3 round tater bursts at D200 to laying carpets of .50 at D600.

Streak ended when I collided with a Spitfire Mk IX and tore my port wing off.  I was being over agressive on it, trying for a gun solution.  I should have just gone vertical and killed him on the next pass.

Yep, the biggest challange I have is the 190's 20mm v. the K4's 30mm and the ally 50 cals. I feel comfortable with the 190's 20mm enough to where most of my kills in 190 are 10-20 20mm fired. I know in my head at a certain angle, and at a certain distance all I need is a .5-1 sec burst to take down a target.

In K-4 I know it usually just 1 tater, but the problem is adjusting the aiming from 20mm to 30mm. The same goes for 50 cals. Since most of the time my comfortable zone is 200m before I open fire, the 50 cals doesn't seems to do enough damage at 1 sec burst to take the enemy down. That and its balistic is different so I have a hard time knowing where to put the piper to lead the shot.

The max I've done in a 190D9 without rearming is 26 kills and about 10 assist, when I land I had 0 ammo and like 1% fuel. In the 51s and F4U I can never get anywhere close to that. Usually I'd get about 10-12 and I'd go bingo totally empty. In 190s I usually have 250 cannon rounds left by the 10th target down, give or take 50 rounds. That's why I found it hard to fly a different plane because I know it will mess up my aiming and comfort zone w/ the 190s and 109s. Well that and the fact I've been a 190 fan since AW1 =)

That camp I never actually got shot down by a person, my K/D was like 133 to 1...In AH, my highest was 97 kills before I got killed by a bomber's defensive fire. AH is way harder to keep a killstreak going as there's collisions, HO's, synced buff formation lasers, much more and effective AA in various forms, etc. Anyone who kills 100+ without dying and can keep a decent K/T is deserving of a medal of some sort, that's no easy feat in any plane as bad luck alone is going to kill you eventually.

i used to fly RR euro in AW. never even knew i could look at my k/d ratio anywhere there. i just went up, flew, fought, died, killed, and bombed.

 biggest thing i remember not liking was how easy it was to kill or be killed in a p38 due to the " hit bubble".

biggest thing i likes was that if i entered a 1-1 or a 1-2 or whatever, the fight normally ended up that way. no hotards, but all god fights. some of the best i remember were with rocky.

dam i loved flying against him, and tuefl.
