I ran off 108 at the start of a tour once... then got shot down by a 234.... yup   a 234.

The first time I read that AW didn't have collisions and reduced the effectiveness of HO shots I was in disbelief...talk about training wheels.

Well, not having HO's actually made fights more interesting IMHO. But, the reason for no HO's or collisions was largely technologically. Back then people were using 1200-9600 baud modems with an average delay 10 times what we have now.. So, it was kind of impractical to have that kind of thing. You just think the collision model seems flawed in AH sometimes, imagine how it would have seemed back then.

I forgotten what my best was but it was way up there and I got tired of it. Im pretty sure if I tried hard I could manage a 50-60 k/d every tour. Its always something stupid that gets you killed doing things like this like fleet ack or a disco.

I usually manage 2-3 kills before I die, and I don't usually land them either.

Yea I know when I first joined the Muppets he was on a run like that in his K4. I think he was upwards of around 130 or somewhere around there before someone got a kill on him. For some reason though I thought the record was closer to 250 not 170ish.

I don't ever have to worry about my K:D because undoubetly the first few days of the tour I manage to fly my absolute worst. I'm always in the can't hit nothing and auger chasing a numbers guy mode the first two days..

I never thought of seeing how far i could get without being killed and never rearm unless ord is out.

I'll fight till dead or outta fuel/ammo. I get nervous when cannon gone and RTB if i can.

 I have run from a fight or two... usually when incoming enemy out #'s any chance of my survival, can't lose / find solution for zeke or high alt B&Z'er holding me up for incoming

5-7 kills in a spit-8 not uncommon. My personal best without reload was 10

12 in a Nik fighting alone

8 in a Ki near a CV

6 in an F4u Winging

Those are the ones I remember anyway. I fly a long list of planes.

Wrong, he was in the thick of it.   I cleared his tail, he put "his goal" on the back burner a few times and cleared me.

My fav was me an Troche, on one day when the knit horde was steam rolling bish bases, me, him, and 3 others got into P-51s and held one base against 30+ knits for almost 15 minutes.

I'm not sure if you mean on one sortie. Otherwise I think my best is 36 and I never died (In spite of myself). Luckiest camp I ever had. It was camp 98.

I had 102, 112 or 152 in a spit14 years ago when the spit14 icon would show at 6k.   I can't remember which of those figures is correct, but one of them is.

wasn't the spit14 added last year?  ... and i've only been able to manage 17 before i died, mainly cuz i try to help win the war instead of worrying about that thing called "rank"            to the ones who fly beside me with the same idea. Pulled off a pnzr run of 49 (only 1/2 were camps) always die before the landings though..I get too eager to get that extra kill

Spit 14 has been around for a loooong time. Last Spit added was 16, about 3 years ago.

And on topic, got 140 until I misjudged E state of a 109K4 and a tater took of my Tempest's tail. It was more a relief than an annoyance though...

I usually die before scoring a kill. I usually dive in and fly around until I die... which doesn't take long in many circumstances.

I'm currently 45/0 flying the A-20G, with about a 50-50 mix of aircraft and armored vehicles. Getting in and out of a furball with my hair can be an adventure...
