Genius JoySticks
« on: August 28, 2008, 11:42:18 AM »
Hey All,

I'm buying a joystick for my son and Compusa has a brand called Genius which is really cheap. Does anyone have any experience with the brand?

Thanks,

If it is what I think it is, its not really suitable for flight simulation type games, including Aces High.  Suitable for arcade type games, as I recall I used one of those when playing X-Wing and Tie Fighter back in the day.

They have a couple of flight sim joysticks.

I don't have any experience with them though. And at around $12.00 - $20.00 I doubt I will anytime soon. :)

Never heard of the brand. I am curious though, didn't CompUSA go out of business about a year ago?

It's now the "All New CompUSA"  :lol. Thanks for reminding me though, I gotta check to see if the store is still there.

My son just got JetFighter 3? from the 5 dollar store and he thought he could run it on my pc. I told him we will have come up with another plan  :). He's dying to play AHII but he's still too young (12 yrs). Thanks for the help maybe I will get him a Saitek so he's ready for AHII in a couple of years.

Cheers

TigerDirect and CompUSA are now sister companies.

They have 23 stores in 4 states.

Just curious as to why 12 is too young.  Is it because of the boneheads he might run into, or because you believe the game is too complex for a 12 year old?

Mostly the cost of another account  :lol, he's not going to use mine because he would probably start HOing everyone. Then I would have to worry about the boneheads  :uhoh

Gus, I saw a picture of one. Walmart sells them on their website. It looked an awful lot like the old Sidewinder. That's all I know.
