Urchin's Whine, Part Duece.

This is actually going to be a smorgasbord of whining.

Part 1-

Panzers are still 'broken'.  It is possible, nay, plausible- to engage them with a .50 equipped plane and detrack it.  It is possible, if not plausible, to kill a panzer with the single .50 on the M3 or the quad .50s on the M16.  Again, detracking will happen within the first 5 rounds that land, I think this should be looked into.

One thing I still don't quite understand is how effective the Hispano cannon are against the Panzer.  I had a Tiffie strafe me with about a 1 second burst and I blew up.  It usually takes a Spitfire 2 or 3 passes, but they can strafe a Panzer with 2 Hispanos and kill it.  On the other hand, the Mg151 20mm in the FW190A8 seem to have little or no effect on ANY GV's.  I put about 200 rounds into an M3 with no apparent damage (a tank later shot him with a cannon and I got the kill), and I dropped about another 300-350 on a Panzer with no apparent damage, again I got the kill when a friendly tank hit him with the cannon.  I strafed an Ostwind today in a P-51 (I started shooting at 1200, stopped at 800 and broke off), and with the 100 or so total rounds fired, enough hit to knock out either the engine or the gun, as black smoke poured up from him before he exited the vehicle.  I've been in a Panzer on numerous occasions and had La7s try to strafe me, they will run out of ammunition and not even detrack the tank.  Needless to say, although I'm quite happy to see an La7 try to strafe me now, I think the effectiveness of the German and Russian cannons need to be looked at against ground vehicles (or perhaps the effectiveness of .50 and Hispano rounds needs to be looked into).

Part 2-

I have found a vehicle that I think it more 'broken' than the Panzer.  It is the PT boat.  Today I decided to try to up a PT boat to fight the LVT's that were coming from a enemy fleet sitting off one of our bases.  This was a mistake.  I was sitting perhaps 200 yards from an LVT2 when I spawned, I opened up on him and EMPTIED all of the .50 caliber ammo on the boat into him.  He started smoking.  I ran out of .50 ammo, so I hopped into the 20mm cannon.  I emptied that into him as well, no apparent damage.  I hopped over into the 37mm cannon and hit him perhaps 15-20 times with it, no apparent damage.  He then opened up on ME with either the pintle-mounted .50 caliber or the hull-mounted .30 caliber, and proceeded to sink me in about 5 seconds.

I turned film on and kept respawning, final score was Urchin in the PTboat 1, LVTs 8.

I know that the PT boat was not a very rugged ship.  However, I do believe it could have withstood more damage than an LVT, which apparently is not the case in Aces High.  Could you please look into the durability of the PT boat, and perhaps the effectiveness of its weapons.  Also, please look into the armor on the LVT (although I will say I've strafed them with the Mg151 20mm and they DO die).

Also, I DO have film for the PT-Boat thing, I jsut don't have any way to post it?  Furthermore I don't know HOW to post it anyway.  If anyone wants it, send me a private message and I'll email it to you.

If someone was firing at you from one of the fleet guns (5" I think) you might not notice pings (they seem to have vanished for some users) and the best the fleet gunner can pull off is an assist, particularly if an LVT actually pings you with an MG. I know, I shoot PT's all the time from the fleet.

BTW, it never happens like that for me!  :) On ping from a PT and my LVT is sunk.  :(

I was there Voss We both we hitting the same one at 1 point. It was crazy pts atleast to me suck. I used every gun on board to hit the bastige lvts I got like 2 out of 10 tries.

However last time I was in a lvt it seemed like a handfull of pings diabled the guns however I did take quite a bit of damage before I died.

Urchin,

If nobody else takes you up on your offer to send them the film, you can send it to me.  Just so you don't think nobody is listening to your whines.

P.S. I promise to watch it...really.

Voss is right about not hearing the pings.  The other night I was in my PT harassing a base when about 2 times I just flat out died--no sound, no enemy near me.  I was pretty ticked until I realized the shore battery was manned and firing so I figured it had to be that.

I have noticed that with the sounds now in AH, especially if you have your PC sound setup to be in stereo, if I am pointed in one direction, I will not hear sounds from another direction. The same goes for me when I'm gunning a ground ack. As I traverse my gun and shoot, the sounds I hear will differ depending upon angle and elevation. Can this be a causitive factor?
