Bf109g2   .3
Fw190a5   .3

You guys wanted the rarer planes to foster more fighting and bring people in. You put the rare planes in the back and... well as many have stated, they won't fly them. They don't want to fly 15 minutes to their dog fighting. They'll just go to the other arenas.

Also why even put the carrier planes on our list if we can't use the carriers?

I think the point of the rare planes is to simulate a not-readily-available aircraft, and to a team a bit of an advantage if the other gets to far into their territory (balancing things out).

The front line isn't moving.

The best thing to happen to this set up is that the allies have not had enough people on at one time yet willing to attempt a capture on A13. Had we taken A13 the fighting in the AvA would have died out. With people unwilling to fly 3 zones to dog fight.

Yes some of the squads are willing but the un-attached players which is what we use to grow this place won't.

These thoughts are not for me personally. I am with the 49th, we'll fly 4 extra zones just to fly P38's. We're that kind of geek though. these other geeks won't do it. They'll log and leave us all chasing our tails.

The front line isn't moving.
I'll give you a hint why, if you want it.
BTW the rest of the allies will be quite happy having Spitfires at every base, I'd imagine.

Why do you think.

I think the front hasn't moved because the Allies don't have a heavy fighter. :)
Our guys don't like the Boston and for the most part won't fly it. Heck since we only have it at limited bases most don't know where they are even if they wanted to go fly it. :)

I am surprised the axis haven't been able to move it so far. That triple base isn't the only air field on the front line.

Has something to do with a certain airbase in the 69-70-71 area...
Edit: Yes, I'm suggesting that the superiority of the Spitfire MkV is stagnating the fighting.

Sorry Bubi - don't know how you figure that.   :huh

The 109F & the Spit V is probably the "Closest" match you are going to get in this whole sim. I think the main problem is the LW is mainly used to facing planes armed with .50's and doesn't like it too well when they come up against enemy birds armed with Cannons just as good as theirs. It is give and take in the war - if like you say the Spit V is giving the Allies some advantage - I am sure the LW will be back in "Hordes" as soon as the 190A-5 becomes available to swing the advantage back the otherway for a while.

The ME-110 is arguably the BEST heavy fighter available in the sim. In real life it had to be escorted to it's targets or it was basically SHARK BAIT for the single engined fighters - HOWEVER - in AH2 it is a regular MONSTER in the hands of even a semi-decent pilot for both A2A & A2G.

To the AvA staff and TheBug,

I say this setup is far more fun than anything I have experienced in any other arena.  The closest to it, would be the furball area of the Dueling Arena.  Since I am one of those bomber geek types, I would like to see more of the planned bomber / escort historical matchup missions run as a challenge made for both sides to participate in.  Forgive me if I am just out of the loop or my limitations on hours of gameplay have mislead me to a false conclusion, but I see the potential there that is being squandered.

Second week planeset as well as the first, I think was well balanced.  I have seen balanced numbers on the roster, which is a big plus in maintaining a campaign.  The one big thing that I have consistently seen in all of the campaign series that is missing is INFORMATION.  Are we so programmed by MA tactics that missions must be hush hush, top secret, that we are forbidding the one ingredient that turns this into a battle.

IMHO, when anyone, new or old to the arena logs in, he/ she should be bombarded with green text on where the fight is.  The country that is able to do that one thing the best will most likely have the upper hand.

Wirbelwind vs m16 talk about a mismatch.
