P-38 questions....

I fly the 38 almost exclusively now for about 2 weeks, but I have some questions.

Question 1

Since the 38 has 2 counter rotating props when flying it straight up to a hard stall shouldn't it "flop" over instead of stalling like say a p-51 does..isn't the torque and other single engine effects what makes the planes stall like that.. I could swear I read somewhere that the 38 was very deadly because if a fighter followed it vertical into a stall it could flip over and be aiming right at the perusing bandit.

so what's the deal there??????

at what alt is it fastest in ah?


Question 3
are there any good resources on the net on p-38 tactics???

Question 1 : I got no totally tubular idea

Question 2 : 25K

Question 3 : enter nme territory at 20K full speed and jugde the sit. continue.
BNZ while u on full feul  dogfight it when it's getting empty.

outclimb the faster planes and turn with the climbers

1. Suggest you look up Vila.. he used to be the KING in WB.
2. In AH try putting each engine on separate buttons on stick. (Hint)
3. Practice a Verticle E climb with slightly more E then the persuer, watch the plane run out of E and nose off..cut off one engine.. kick rudder and then start engine as you are 2/3 over. ..It slides on its side.(Practice it in TA)

I still don't like it for MA but its fun to fly in TA.

Q1: FM FUBAR. It should flop over if you dont apply rudder or mess with thrust on one engine (nasty stall when I tried to hammerhead that way, almost puked the whole 20k trip down)

Dont tangle with N1KS unless they are tailing somoene else, you will DIE. The 38 cant do squat against it, even with alt advantage  

Edited/added: Take a look at the specifications on that website. P-38L could take TWO 2k bombs and 10 rockets. Id love to have that hehe.

Found the e-mail of one of the 475th pilots, we'll see if he replies. Hope I can get him to fly in AH
