Flexibility in bomber engine controls
« on: August 22, 2001, 03:42:00 AM »
Would it be possible to have individual engine rpm control?  Or if I shut one engine down, say, to compensate for the same engine being out on the other wing (auto-feathering?), that I could control the remaining engines as one, without having to select each one separately?  As it is, when I shut one down, hitting shift-e to try and control the remaining ones starts the one I just shut down?

I think it might be nice to have all sorts of engine controls for bombers:  mixture, supercharger, cowl flaps, carb de-ice, etc., etc.   Also, have an "automatic" mode that does all that stuff but only produces 85% of the power that proper manual control could produce.  This would:

A.  Give buff pilots something to do on the long climb out.

B.  Make buffs harder to fly at nosebleed alts.

C.  Make a home for anal reality freaks.

Lets keep it simple, the ability to compensate for a shot out engine (besides trimming the rudder) would be nice. It's been asked for numerous times in the past.  :(

You already can switch between individual engines.  :)  I forget the command though.

Didn't read your post all the way ;)

Yep... sorry, I didn't read your post all the way.  I too would like to see a better system implemented. :)
