Ive been playing either Air Warrior or Aces High since 95 ish.  I know what you mean, right now I'm playing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory online and taking a summer break.  Wolf ET is all free, like Aces the online players are globaL.

ps I don't cancel my Aces subscription, I just take a break every now and again.

tacky, very tacky.  Promoting a competitor's game, though one of greatly lesser quality but still tacky nonetheless.

Very well aware of the history of WB, having played the game myself during the HiTech years but it's no longer his game as you're most likely aware that he sold it around 10 years ago.  Whether or not he created the game still doesn't change the fact that iEN's WB is a competitor and it's tacky to post trying to get others to move to the competition.

Well I think your being generous to call a 10 year old game a competitor to AH

if anyone goes to warbirds and gets the month free trail if you download it you also download like 5 or so other games with it.

in those 5 games is a game called Dawn of Aces.

it is WW1 Biplanes,

And is yet a pale shadow of DOA II. When DOA III came out the WWI sim enthusiasts all disappeared. Funny, the same "flying in a bowl of glue" feel carried over with the new engine, even in aircraft that only could handle 150 MPH.

Wish HTC would use the engine they have here and make a great WWI sim. It would definately rock.

Funny, since Aces High has been around 8 years now.

Sounds about right. A 10 year old game competing with a 8 year old game.

There are so many posts that I could quote, but I picked this one. The game is going where we let it go. "We pay the light bill in Texas." If HT has customer loyalty then things should change. That's business.

I have been playing for a year and a half under three identities and I have seen people come and go, but there is always a consistent corp group of vets that we can count on and no matter what people think about them as individuals, they keep the game going. I must admit I still have alot to learn about the game and if the talent starts to leave then this game will be left to the more inexperienced and their style of game play which is inconsistent and not very well thought out. The problem with the newer players(such as myself) is we don't ask for help or training. Personally, I need to spend much more time in the TA, otherwise how can I be an asset to my squad or country.

We need the veteran players in the community to keep the game going. Not just to educate the Noobs (Me. Yes after a 1 1/2 years I think I'm still noobish in my skills), but most importantly, the vets have seen the evolution of the game and the gameplay and their legitimate opinions should be a concern for HT.

Leaving won't solve anything. Maybe alittle break for some might bring back a thrill as mentioned by some in earlier posts, but leaving won't make it better for anyone.

DOA itself does not compete with AH2 since its a ww1 sim. Warbirds is though.
