Very Good  :aok

Haley won a Pulitzer for his book "Roots: The Saga of an American Family". The miniseries which followed, aired in 1977, garnered one of the highest ratings in American television history.

Haley was a 20 veteran of the Coast Guard, served in the Pacific during WWII, and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. In tribute, the US Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley was named in his honor.

Don knotts
Like I said, easy huh? :aok

"Don Knotts enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 19, serving during World War II. In addition to serving on the field, he used his time in the Army to hone his entertainment skills, entertaining his fellow soldiers, eventually discarding his ventriloquist dummy and standing on his own as an entertainer. He served the U.S. Army honorably, and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal (with 4 bronze service stars), Army Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Badge (with Carbine Bar) and Honorable Service Lapel Pin. Don Knotts was honorably discharged on January 6, 1946."

It appears we have a worthy challenger to Rusty/Boner dominance. Yep Desi Arnaz. :aok

"Born Desiderio Alberto Arnaz y de Acha III (big breath.....) he was born on March 2, 1917 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba to Desiderio Alberto Arnaz (1894-1973) and Dolores de Acha (1896-1988). His father was Santiago's youngest mayor and then served in the Cuban House of Representatives. The 1933 revolution, led by Fulgencio Batista, overthrew the American-backed President Gerardo Machado, landed his father in jail for six months, and stripped his family of its wealth and power. Arnaz's father was released when U.S. officials, who believed him to be neutral during the revolt, intervened on his behalf. Arnaz and his parents then fled to Miami, Florida.

Following a knee injury, he made it through boot camp. He was eventually classified for limited service, and ended up directing United Service Organization (U.S.O.) programs at a military hospital in the San Fernando Valley."

This next guy isn't famous because he was an actor, author, politician, or any other type of celebrity.
(Good Luck :))
