Correct.
The writer of famous children's book Little Prince.
Shot down near French coast in a recce P-38. The German pilot that allegedly shot him down had wondered about the slow looping maneuvers Saint-Exupéry did to evade. That could be because at age 44 and suffering pains because of earlier injuries he was not up to do much more, although it is in doubt if his story holds since at that time he did not file an aerial victory report and there were no witnesses to incident.
However, the aircraft was later found and confirmed to be Saint- Exupéry's ride and at the time of incident an unknown body was recovered from the water wearing French uniform.

PS. Go ahead Dark, its your turn since you gave the correct answer.

PPS. "His face is so easily recognizeable, this one isn't even a challenge." Very true if you have seen his picture earlier. As a strange coincidence I thought I had not, but seeing the Wiki page of him I realized that in fact I HAD seen him earlier since I realized I had spared a 50 franc note from my Paris trip with his portrait, princes and planes and all. Just never realized who he was when I preserved the note.
