Liberal Attacks on Palin for Being a Woman and Mother?
« on: September 03, 2008, 01:00:33 PM »
What's the deal here?  Also, her stance on teaching creation theory alongside evolution...why be so critical about that?  Would they attack a man with 5 kids the same way?

JAMES CARVILLE: "I just would make the point, is my family — I had five sisters. They're all pro-life to the core. And they all would act in exactly the same way. That's not the question. The question is, why would she be running for vice president? I mean this woman is almost absent qualifications for the job. I mean this is — she is — I'm willing to concede to the whole world that she's a very committed pro-life person, that she's an honorable person, that she's a good mother. But that's not the issue before the American people right now." (CNN's "Larry King Live," 9/1/08)

"Liberal radio host Ed Schultz was telling listeners Monday that Palin was an 'empty pantsuit' who had set off a 'bimbo alert.'" (Howard Kurtz, "A Blogger, A Baby, A Cry Of Concern," The Washington Post, 9/2/08)

CARVILLE: "Again, when they find out, when they find out — I man, when people find out that Sarah Palin supported Pat Buchanan, that she supports teaching creationism, they're not — she's not a person that's going to be very attractive to Democrats." (CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360 Degrees," 8/29/08)

"Two recent headlines underneath the talking heads at MSNBC: 'SOME WORKING MOTHERS WORRY THAT PALIN IS TAKING ON TOO MUCH.' Moments later, it changed to, 'SOME VOTERS CONCERNED IF PALIN, A MOTHER OF FIVE HAS TIME TO BE VP.' So good of them to express the concern in headline form." ("MSNBC Worries About Sarah Palin's Time Management," National Review's "Campaign Spot" Blog, Posted 9/2/08)

• CNN's John Roberts Questioned Whether Governor Palin Would Be Able To Care For A Child With Down Syndrome As Vice President.

CNN's JOHN ROBERTS: "There's also this issue that on April 18, she gave birth to a baby with Down syndrome. The baby is just slightly more than 4 months old now. Children with Down Syndrome require an awful lot of attention. The role of vice president, it seems to me, would take up an awful lot of her time, and it raises the issue of, how much time will she have to dedicate to her newborn child?" BASH: "That's a very good question, and I guess my guess is that perhaps the line inside the McCain campaign would be, if it were a man being picked who also had a baby 4 months ago with Down syndrome, would you ask the same question? And that might be another way to kind of, you know, close the gender gap in trying to make the point that, yes, she not only has unfortunately a baby with Down syndrome, but she has five children, the oldest of whom is apparently in the Army and is apparently going to head off to Iraq in the fall." (CNN's "Newsroom," 8/29/08)

What a smear campaign...not only that, they're saying she's a freakin' Nazi sypathizer because she supported Buchanon?  How low will they go, how many staws will they grasp at?  I'm hearing now that Us Weekly is reporting as news, a blog about her?

This woman scares them so they dig for whatever they can find and make mountains out of mole hills.

Pathetic, but a the same time predictable and welcome because they are showing what they are really made of.

This is just the beginning.....if you like rolloer coasters..this will be a politcal one to beat all. Her SSN is released by the liberal nuts....her daughter is bashed...she is bashed...her husband is bashed....lets bring the 4 month old into it....oh and why not make a big deal of the boyfriend of her daughter being at the convention as well.

I have been watching ALL the news today...MSNBC , CNN , Headline News , and FOX. I wanted to hear how the cable news networks were covering all this and hearing things they had to say. After watching for the last few hours and listening while I did some work around the house I must say it's OBVIOUS who certain networks (CNN  Headline  MSNBC) want in the white house.

Fox News....tho a slant to the right is FAR MORE balanced than these others....Even Ed Rendel says so...and he is BIG TIME Obama suporter.

Lib Media....makes me sick

I watched em all after the speeches last night.....

Olberman...Spittle Chris Matthews....LOL...they absolutloey make me sick.

I quit watching CNN on Sept 1st.  They were getting to be as bad as the National Enquirer with their reporting (just mho).

Watching some of Ron Paul and some of the Repub convention on CSPAN and -2 was so much nicer than having to listen to talking heads all the time.

CNN is huge behind Obama ... it became quite evident to me last night switching between CNN and Fox News watching the "after" convention dialogs.

CNN is so far slanted toward the Obama camp that it is almost sickening to watch ... which I won't anymore.

People "overlook" that one of her "5 kids" is in Iraq, and one is 17 and one is 12 and that she has a husband who will likely have 24/7 to be Mr.Mom if Palin goes to Washington. It is funny to see the far left, especially the media droids at CNN and MSNBC moving to the barefoot and pregnant track where women's rights are concerned. The same with NOW that apparently, like ACLU on the 2nd, has issues with exactly which Women's are appropriate to be feminists.

I fully appreciate the many hypocrisies of the right, it's just fun to finally see the hypocrisies of the left on such clear display  :aok

They're doing it cause she's a strong female unlike Hilliary. She won't change her opinion because the polls or media bashes her to.

For example Hilliary was backing Spitzer (former Gov. of NY) on giving illegal aliens drivers licences until the people were outraged and then she did an about face. I doubt if Palin would do that.

Besides the media should start bashing Obama's mother; she was 18 when she had him.

Ditto. I don't watch Fox anymore either.  I read various articles and decide for myself who is pulling my chain and who is not.

I watch local news, that's about it.

I used to watch CNN because it seemed to be less biased than MSNBC but lately they are just as bad.  I think I lost all respect for Wolf Blitzer when he tried to argue with Bill Bennett that Palin's daughter's pregnancy was a valid talking point because of the "nation's concern for teenage pregnancy".  When before 08/31 did any American or any poll indicate that teenage pregnancy was a major concern of the US voter?  Even Larry King devoted a half hour to the subject the other night.  Pathetic.

Story #3 on cnn.com right now is "High-profile teen pregnancies in spotlight".  Really?  The media PUTS it in the spotlight because it is good for ratings.  Nothing more.

I'm a liberal and I could give a rats pitoot about the fact that she's a woman... and frankly, I think most libs feel that way too.

It's her policies that concern us.  I don't think public school is the place to teach creationism.  I think there is already an institution that teaches that, and it's call Church *and possibly family*

I disagree with her prolife/anti-choice stance. (not going to get into it here)

I disagree with her on global warming. *An issue she is in disagreement with her running-mate btw

I would like to know more about the inquiry regarding the firing of her former brother-in-law.

She is the queen of ear-marks, getting more than 27 million in federal dollars for her small town.

I would also like to know what her affiliation to the Alaska Independent Party is.  *a group that seeks a vote on the secession of Alaska from the Union.

And people keep touting her executive experience... I just don't see it.  Any schmuck can be a mayor *see Ray Nagin* And she hasn't been Governor for very long.  Obama has managed a larger staff during this campaign for longer than she has been Governor.

There are plenty of reasons to question her ability to be VP... just as there are plenty of reasons to question McCain, Obama, and Biden.  Her femininity is not one of them. At least not for me.

I can't speak for anyone being critical of her family; but I will speak on the "intelligent design" theory.

It's not science.  Keep religion in the church and science in the schools.  If they are going to teach that crap as science they sure as hell better be teaching about the Flying Spagetthi Monster, since I've been touched by his noodly appendage I've felt the urge to insure theories of how he created the universe are taught in our public schools alongside alternative creationist theories.
