I still don't understand why, after HTC has done all the legwork to create a flight sim engine, he doesn't expand into Korea or WW1.  Korea in particular I think would be a small step.

They flew alot of prop planes that we have the lil brothers of already.  And HTC can obviously coad jets with  the Me-262.

Why not tack on a Korea arena?

No please. IMO HTC should focus on ww2 and make sure it remains the best ww2 flight game out there. If they had time to waste though i would not be upset if they made the the f86 and mig15 and enabled them in a DA type arena. Problem is that people always want more...

When Flyboys came out, there was rumors of HiTech having a hand in the WWI game that was released at the same time.  He popped into a thread we were discussing and asked us where we thought that game's flight model came from...

(Image removed from quote.)

yeah it was warbirds. when the game crashes it said Warbirds3d.exe has encountered an error or something :)

the free demo i played of flyboys sim was hugely fun.

Exactly!  With the basic flight model developed to the point that us internet eggheads will debate for hours over 5-10mph of top speed, I think simply applying the model to WWI era aircraft would be relatively simple (especially when compared to a start up company building everything from scratch).

I would be a big supporter of an experiment.

Why not model a very small number of WWI craft.  Set up an arena with a very limited very small map, no base capture stuff.  Make it available to AH2 subscribers.  See what kind of new life it breathes into the player base.

Ya,
That is a bit much, That is why I fly on my own server and mod the aircraft to fit and make it fun. The debates will really ruin the game.

I wish there was a online sim with modern planes.  If HTC made it I'd pay $30.00 a month  :rock

Doa (flyboys) is soo much fun !
Reason is - you really have to work the enemy aircraft over , riddle them with bullets , over and over again, until you get a pilot kill, or plane structure falls apart, or you hit fuel and lit up.

It really set you apart from AH2 4*20mm kills.

The Wrabirds III version of DOA is a pale comparison to the DOAII sim in just about every aspect (i.e. number of aircraft, features , and flight model fidelity). Of course you cant play it any more because they killed it to support their newer (7 year old) version. Though if you have version 2.55 , you can HTH with it ok.

I sorely miss the old DOA crowd.  :frown:

I'd like to see WWI and Spanish Civil War arenas (then I'd finally get to see the I-16) and maybe Korea (then we'd get the A-26 for sure).
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

If HTC put up a WWI Sim, I'd signup in a heartbeat.  I know a ton of people who would also.  It is a completely unserved market.
