B29 Superfortress

I have to ask just because I dont know the details. On the B29 the landing lights are near the trailing edge of the wing and quite a bit outboard. My question is one of procedure concerning these lights. When the landing gear goes up do the lights stay on until the pilot turns them off or do they go off automatically once the gear is up? Does anyone know?

I believe that the lights stayed on till the pilot turned them off. But im not 100% sure.

IIRC, I believe the pilot had to turn them off after the gear retracted/deployed.

No circuit onboard a fighting aircraft has nav lights, recognition lights, let alone landing lights on the same circuit.  Frankly, I know of no aircraft that would.  Hell, instrument lighting is always seperate.

All lighting systems are seperate for a reason as a short would kill all.  Landing lights require large amounts of amps.  Nav lights very low amounts, as do recognition.

Yes of course. I really meant 'programming circuits' as I am trying to work in lights on an FSX model. I know how to set lights to go off when the gear comes up if they are landing lights but if I use the light on/off command it turns off the nav lights and recognition lights too. There is also a strobe light switch but there really isnt a strobe on the WWII period model (I dont think). You really have to do a lot of digging to do anything custom with lighting effects and other things and sorting through the commands one at a time and sorting through a hundred config files is more then I bargained for I guess. It sure makes me thankful for HTC working things out for us.

EDIT: I found it! A way to turn just the landing lights off anyway.

In two weeks with the rest of all the new planes and corrections for our current planes, right?
