Q: RE Perk Points & refuel/rearm pads
« on: January 03, 2001, 06:28:00 PM »
Is it true you only get perk points if you land sucessfully? I like this idea... I really do... but... I think you should still get them if you land and refuel. I believe I had a 1 kill sortie... landed and refueled... took off and was shot down... and received no perk points. I think refueling should act like landing and perk points should be totalled then... or else no one interested in perk points will use the hot refuel/rearm pads, they'll just .ef and take off again. Granted... not a big deal really... but I kinda liked using the hot pads before... and now I won't if I risk losing my PPs.

Fortunes of war. You were buried with full military honors and so were your perks.

Wanna save the perks, go to the tower.

I like it this way.  Sure, you can hot re-arm/re-fuel a few times and run up the kill streak, but each time you risk losing more of those points.    With greater reward comes greater risk.

The last two nights I have played, I ran one extended sortie the whole time.  One was 5 kills and a couple assists in a Jug, and last night I managed 7 or 8 in an F6F and a couple assists.  Near the end of that Kitty sortie, after I had re-armed twice, I was getting pretty damn tense!  Nothing like increasing the pucker factor by daring to extend your streak and risk losing the big points payoff.  Woohoo!    <S> to Pig Wingmen who save my behind regularly!  Oink!

I agree with Leph. Kinda a "double ya money or bust" scenario.

LOL I had 12 kills tonight in a Spit V then I attacked a Lancaster with only my .303's left.  Needless to say, I died and my points went with me.  I wouldn't do it any other way though.  Score is for pansies!!!

Uh what's the reward of refuel and not exit/relaunch?

Got 2 digits kill message in radio?

Is that something better than good score? ;-)

You get your points whether u live or die, just a multiplier (1.25 i think) is applied if you land and exit successfully.

You show up in the buffer with kill 12 and 13, and people WILL notice you.

I agree with Leph. It's like a fame game, put those chips on the table.
