Been playing 4 mos now- AHII is a great game. I would not have stayed around were it not for the legit attempts at historical accuracy for the flight models. Some ideas:
1. Permasquelch

(remember squelches, make list viewable with dot command for reference)
2. Toggle SQ vox on/off: 1 Button to toggle mute SQ vox for when range has priority
3. Include SQ/Range vox volume in sound effects settings just like other sound effects
4. Generic enemy icon at 6.0 for fighters instead of nme+type. NME aircraft type at 3.0, subvariant at 600 instead of 800.
5. Server tracks killstreaks for each submode: IE when you die in fighter mode the host kicks you a message saying "your streak ended at 34 sorties 59 kills 15 assists"
6. Bailout delay, I like the ejection seat style delay in play now, but unrealistic. Let's try random 4-6 sec delay.
7. Varied pilot wounds. Blackouts for the fatal injuries, redouts for the pain of nonlethal injuries. Duration of red/blackout increasing w time. Random total duration for both. Duration for redouts up to 30 min before going to black. Black would vary from 1 min to 12. Also since you would likely not be in full control of your faculties add a .1 sec delay or "dead zone" to all control inputs.
8. German 88mm variant. Varied loadouts of flak/AP rounds. Flak burst delay set manually by ".fuze 5". (Perked.)
9. Increase the effect of strat targets by a factor of x2. (Currently no incentive to defend them)
10. Add research strat: Since this would require new maps I suggest replacing "troop training" with "Research Facility" destruction of which would artificially raise ENY for enemy affected in that zone.
11. Grid overlay. 10x10 grid for each sector for those nitnoid fixes. Keypad system narrows location to about 64 sq miles. This would narrow fix to about 7. Selectable from drop-down list.
12. Briefing room for created missions. Have billboard in room with the clipboard map on it and a draw tool for the msn creator. Will be able to describe flight paths more efficiently.
13. Auto formation option. Be able to select a friendly within D400 (like check6) and have your aircraft maintain relative position automatically. Get a 5sec flashing msg when formation broken. (Leader >40 deg bank, outside D1.0)
14. New ords: 2000lb bombs avail for those planes that had them historically. Ability to skip-bomb. Retarded munitions. (IE 100lb parafrags used in PTO by 5th AF)
15. Droop Snoot P-38 variant (selectable just like B25 glass nose)
16. Change own aircraft Icon on clipboard to color other than gray (yellow?)
17. ETA tool on E6B. Be able to select point along route of flight line (blue line extending from nose when option selected) to get ETA to that point.
18. User-friendly padlock view.
19. Decrease field/town ack accuracy by increasing ack tracking delay by .1 sec for every 20% reduction of corresponding ack strat. Reflects decrease in equip/training.
20. Continuity perks +.5 perks (+modifier) for every consecutive sortie flown (with a kill) in an aircraft/gv in a given mode. (Hence P47 could have separate continuity streaks in ftr and attack modes) This will reward players trying to learn new aircraft, reward players who love their aircraft to their detriment and "penalize" players who continuously switch aircraft for the situation.
21. Figure plane type into score. A player who flies the P-40 should remain somewhat competitive and not be penalized for loving an old plane. (Goodness knows he will be punished in MA regardless) I say if that P40 stick manages a 2:1 k/d he should be competitive with the Pony player who picks his way to a 5:1 k/d. Use type kill ratios to determine a score modifier. IE if the P51D has an 8:1 k/d vs P40E that month the P40 should get 8 kill points toward rank each victory vs the P51D getting .125 per victory.
22. Auto "check six" calls for aircraft with gunners when cons gets w/in 3.0
23. PBY-5 Catalina: Lands on water/rwy can load downed pilots as gunners, gains +80 team perks per pilot rescued. Rescued pilot gets 20 team perks. (Reflects improvement of morale, lessons learned from pilots who've "been there") Also PBY-5 can report surface and air targets better due to specially trained aircrew. Surface targets w/in 5 miles show on clipboard like DAR. Air tagets w/in D6.0 also show on friendly clipboards.
23 1/2: LVTs, PTs, Jeeps should be enabled to rescue as well.
24. "Team Player" perks: Separate category to reward "team play". The guy that deacks the field, drops supps and rescues pilots should get more credit than he does. In addition to the attack/bomber perks you get for deacking/dropping field supplies etc you should gain redundant "team perks". (Deacking in ftr mode will still earn team perks) Also Team perks would not transfer with you when you switch countries, rather you would have whatever you had when you last left that country. (Separate "perk accounts") Why? "Team" rank alone would determine CV control. Having separate perk accounts would stop the occasional Bish player from switching to Knits, taking over their attacking CV and driving it to the PT spawn. Finally, "team" rank could effect the size of missions and number of aircraft types allowed when a player puts together a mission.
25. HQ bombing: Bombing an HQ should have disruptive effects before it is leveled with 30k+ of high-explosive doom from on high.

When HQ is hit, for each 1000 lbs of ord on target, dardar (relative sector ratio) goes out for 5min. When HQ destroyed dar bar lost and stays that way till HQ is re-supped (no autorepair for HQ)
however local DAR would remain intact (since in RL local radar operators would still make-do)
26. Some kind of transition from death to tower (this was a big turnoff at first exposure, still kinda is as it makes AH look like unfinished product)
27. B-29 yes it would be uber but it was used operationally and made a big mark on history. It would be able to rain ridiculous and unbalancing amounts of destruction down were it not for the fact it would be the first conventional perked bomber in AH and suggestion 28 below.
28. Random wind state: Let's get a random 0-10mph wind for each sector from 0-40k. It would mean havok for all the buff pilots unrealisitcally plinking FHs from 25k feet. Once you get it down it's hard to miss. Just 5mph would mean a huge move toward WWII realism in this area.
29. Perk transfer: Ftr/Bomber/GV perks could be transferred to other players on your country via drop down option in roster but only transferred to the corresponding category. Let's say player X wants to give player Y 100 fighter perks. He will actually have to give up 200 fighter perks since half of the "donated perks" will transfer to his "Team" Perk tally (see #24) In this manner alone can you transfer standard perks to "team" perks and thus improve your rank. (A "perks/hr" system would have to be initiated to prevent the 16hr/day junkie from outranking the 5hr a week team player.)
30. ENY update: P47N, 109G2,F4F come to mind as being "Off" right away. Also a supply/demand situation could be worked out. Let's say that when a plane makes up more than it's fair share of the MA it's ENY figure will start to decrease. IE 20% of MA is flying P51D, P51D ENY would drop gradually from 8 to 5. This wouldn't stop anyone from flying it until numbers caused min ENY to go up. Together with #21 might reduce "ubiquitous" aircraft.
31. D.520, P61, Pe2, Mig-3 (if only so we can say "I shot down that Mig"

32. Consider cutoff criteria for planes: By this I mean looking at including aircraft that entered series production before war ended not just those that saw combat. Very iffy business but very fun. Imagine P80, F7F,F8F. Figure out a proper perk cost (likely high:) and multiply by 3 to reflect the expense of having something that was rushed to the front lines via overnight FedEx.
33. Turret direction indicators for GVs (like on B17 belly) it's a crutch, but in RL you'd be less disoriented as to where you were pointing.
34. Aircraft buffeting for nearby flak explosions/missing parts.
35. Ability to extinguish fires some of time by diving at high speed.
36. Destructable bridges. (I'd rather kill them than those trains) Convoys/trains would have to resupp/fix bridge before getting to destination.
